Well I still have the original PC version.. but steam achievements would be awesome... but wtf is with this Character Booster?

I still have my original disk for my PSO from 1997, and also the "Greatest Hits" version.

I might get this just for the "achievements" but the character boosting is the dumbest thing I've heard of in a while. Way to dumb down your game. Considering no one asked for such a stupid feature to be added. I've heard to improve graphics, new weapons, fix glitches, new materia, more adaptive interface, increase battle speed option, BUT NEVER this nonsense.

Never played FF7 so if this is true, then I'll be picking up a copy, need to see what all the fuss is about!

Has to be pretty good to surpass FF9 though.

Never played FF7, but I'm not interested in this at all. I'd rather they do an awesome remake of it with new tech.

I rememeber that last time, when supposed Steam registry entries for FF 7 and 8 appeared, it was said that they *tried* to make them work on new machines, but ultimately failed and scrapped the idea.

So I guess they got their shit together and tried again. I'm hoping it's true, though that Character Booster thing sounds so unbelievable and ridiculous that I have difficulties in believing this.

I remember reading Square tried to get the game on Steam before, but they had no luck since it didn't run to well under current windows machines. Guess they got it working.
