CoD hype is far from lower. The trailer has over 22 Million views already.

views do not equal sales

No shit, Sherlock. We were talking hype, not sales. Go find a Sony thread to troll instead of giving me your pointless replies.

I'm the biggest God of War fan on Vgchartz but come on God of War: Ascension has only been up for pre-order for about 7 weeks and it's almost 38 weeks from launch, not that many games make it onto the pre-order charts in such little time so far away from release.

It'll probably make it onto the charts next week as it's been in the top 15 best selling games on Amazon.com across all video game hardware & software (even being in the top 5 a couple of times) for over 12 days in a row now (still at 11 right now) and it's been in the top 15 best selling PS3 games in Gamestop since they started taking pre-orders.

Then again, we recently found out the God of War games were massively under-tracked with GoW3 being a whopping 800,000 under so who's to say God of War: Ascension isn't under-tracked and should be in the pre-order charts? I'm not complaining though as I really don't care because Vgchartz doesn't claim to be 100% accurate and Sony will announce the numbers eventually anyway.

On a side note; Halo 4 is doing amazingly!

I take it you haven't met GoW3_Ever.

Also, we have a saying here that every time you quote amazon as a reliable source of preorder numbers, somebody clubs a baby seal to death. Amazon is a tiny share of the gaming market, with completely different demographics to the market as a whole. It has never reliably indicated preorder numbers or first week sales, and has never claimed to do so.

Earlier God of War games being undertracked doesn't mean Ascension is definitely undertracked too, but it's possible.

...and who said it did?

Amazon is just the one example that people give of their favorite games having high pre-orders.(I know I do all my video game purchases from there) Would you like people to list every single online retailer just to try and prove a point?

Oh and wtf is up withpeople mentioning Amazon and Baby seals? Who the **** cares? It's annoying.

Amazon has never correlated with first week sales, ever.

I could list every single online retailer. Add to that every brick and mortar retailer and you have the number of choices available. Going to a store with a small percentage of the marketshare and odd metrics for measuring its charts anyway, is not a good indication of final preorder numbers.

When did I say it did? Never.

If a game is doing well on Amazon in pre-orders, odds are that its doing similar if not better in other retailers. Let's say The Last of Us is #30 on Gamestops pre-order list, and its #10 on Amazon........it's highly likely that the game is selling better in Gamestop since it holds so much more marketshare.

BTW, for a mod you should know better than flaming.

Someone having a different opinion than you does not automatically mean they are "flaming".

No-where did I see Kantor flame or do anything of the sort in his posts.

Okay, let me put this as simple as possible:

AMAZON DATA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REAL WORLD. NOTHING AT ALL!

I hope you got it now.

And please fell free to show me where Kantor is flaming. I did not see that one. A

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

VGKing stop trying to guess based on antecdial evidence how Last of Us is performing.

I DO know Gamestops preorder numbers for the Last of Us and they are far from good.

That being said its a new IP and will probably sell decently but Sony fans are putting way too much hope in the games selling power.

To the people crying about Last of Us and God of War A. I dont think you understand the concept of preorders...

People who preorder games are usually hardcore gamers / fan of an existing series. Which explains why Mass Effect 3 preorders where so high, yet sales barely above Mass Effect 2...

In the case of Last of Us and God of War A, gameplay footage has was only released last month. Preorders are not going to jump up automatically. End of Term exams, summer drought, summer blockbuster movies means gaming is not exactly a top priority for casual gamers. So what if its No1 on Amazon. Amazon update their lists daily, its constantly changing and makes up a fraction of total preorders.

After the summer, when the demand for Q3/2013 games starts getting high, the preorders will start to come in. Also remember, PS3 games never have high preorder numbers. I Don't expect either of these 2 games to even crack the top 20 before the fall. October is when the numbers will high.

On a side note, Halo 4 is gonna be a beast.

I don't see the co relation between his comment and yours ... How is "views do not equal sales" got to do anything with trolling on a Sony thread?
