im still undecided, but really its money that is the main detractor. Not that the WiiU wont be cheap its just my finances are being taken up by some big home improvement projects and the possibility of having to purchase a new car. I also own a PS3, and is the WiiU going to be that much different apart from obviously the controller. Time will tell but if i choose not to go down the WiiU route i have enough Wii and Gamecube titles to see me good for a very very long time, and my 3DS for the more up to date Nintendo offerings :)

I feel that I want it day 1.

It will be the first Nintendo system I don't own.

Ports of year old games and mini-game collections just aren't enough to get my cash this time around.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

I've learnt my lesson after the Wii :(

now that e3 is over i'm starting to really want the console again. e3 was a big let down, but I got a feeling Nintendo Land has the potentiel to appeal to the masses. I only own nintendo consoles so the late 3rd party games aren't really an issue for me, and I'm actually getting real excited for trine 2, rayman, batman, and mario. I'm just hoping it doesn't launch for over 299

I think TGS will be really good, because they will probably show off alot of Dragon Quest, which I have been waiting forever for. Also, they have already said they are gonna make it available for the Wii U so that's gonna be huge for them.

Will get one depending on availability (not going to hunt for it) because I'm ready for something new. Unless all the launch games get bad reviews. HD Mario, zombieU and AC3 look like a good start.

Ironically enough, the Wii U's re-reveal at E3 actually strengthened my interest in the system.

Before, we really didn't have that great of an idea what the system's ideology would be. After E3, it's pretty easy to see that the Wii U is a continuation of Wii's philosophy, with a strong focus on local multiplayer and interaction due to the GamePad. The asymmetrical gameplay elements that the controller proved look fantastic, whether it's a smaller role (ala NSMBU) or a larger one (NintendoLand). Five player multiplayer? Love it.

And the GamePad looks to enhance more traditional uses of the controller as well, seen with Assassin's Creed, ZombiU, and Arkham City. We know how that second screen enhanced DS games, and the GamePad offers up even more potential.

The games themselves offer up a great selection so far between the more casual (Wii Fit U, Sing), titles for everyone (NSMBU, Rayman, Scribblenauts) and deeper experiences (ZombiU, Pikmin 3, majority of 3rd party support). There's already a handful of games I want for the system. Looking like one of the best (imo of course) launch lineups I've seen in a long time.

So while some moan and groan at the Wii U being "another Wii", I'm pretty ecstatic about that. Wii has brought me so many great gaming moments, and I own more games for it than any other console. So far so good, and we've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Games I want for the Wii U thus far:

  • New Super Mario Bros. U (Duh.)
  • Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition (Beat the game in one sitting last year. Can't wait to play it again.)
  • ZombiU (Looks unique, fun, and terrifying.)
  • Rayman Legends (That art style. That 2D Platforming. Mm mm good!)
  • NintendoLand (Really looks like a fun time with friends every time you play.)
  • Pikmin 3 (I'm actually not a huge Pikmin fan, but it's still a series that I've enjoyed in the past.)
  • Trine 2: Director's Cut (I've heard so many good things about this game... I've got to give it a try.)
  • Assassin's Creed III (I've never been one for AC, but I'm loving the frontier and seaside elements.)
  • Aliens: Colonial Marines (I'm a pretty big Aliens fan, and the game looks like a blast.)
  • NBA 2K13 (Big basketball fan, and the series has always been a quality one.)
  • Wii Fit U (The first and Plus were great experiences. Can't wait to have fun while burning some calories.)

And those are just the games I know I'll be getting. That's fantastic stuff right there. Very excited. ^_^

Nintendo always surprises me.

There's your answer.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Day one buy.
