-After the new Kinect Fable that franchise is surely finished. After all the money Microsoft threw at it Molneux could never turn it into the RPG is should've been. It will not make it to next gen either.

why shouldn't it? fable 4 would sell easily 3m+ for 360 if it would come out this winter nearing the end of this generation and 4m+ if gen would last one year longer. not that i need a new fable, i really like fable but i would love to see something new from lionhead. and fable the journey won't destroy the franchise. it seems to be better than other kinect games with this kind of controls if i understood magazines correct and even if it would be a bad joke i don't think people wouldn't buy fable 4 because of that.


Wow...you guys must have some low standards to what is sold to be a "ground breaking RPG" just saying. Peter Molyneux left Lionhead and Microsoft studios and some key members are leaving to make their own studio. Lionhead is going to be a shell just like Rare. The Microsoft effect I guess.

I read what you wrote. Funny you should say I follow Sony and like their games, because when I first joined this forum people said I was an 360 fanboy. At some point you people will understand I follow the games and have no loyalty to consoles. Sony develops more quality games in-house, is that a problem? Personal opinion but its also a fact that they just pump out more games themselves without dependence. Also, I've played Kameo (my friend gave it away to me for free with Fable 3), it's not Rares best in the least. Viva Pinata I have no opinion on since I haven't played it. It has nothing to do with being a Microsoft IP. My list is what I expect from Microsoft next generation. It wont be very different from any other generation. I highly doubt Fable will make it to next gen, simply put. Not enough strong titles.

and if you read what i wrote why are you talking about "you guys have low standard"? because i like an above average quality game? ohh sry! i don't care if you were first called a 360 fanboy when you visited the site. it's not like people can't change their opinion but one is for sure, people always thinking you are  a fanboy reading your aggressive posts sometimes could mean something

and i still wonder why you even had to talk about rare and whatever when i was talking about fable sales and that a new fable 4 would sell pretty good. as if they couldn't make games anymore without molyneux who was maybe one of the biggest reason they couldn't hit peoples expectations. they will employ new fresh people, i bet they could make a fable without molyneux and some others.

Fable wont get far without Molyneux unless Microsoft creates a 343 out LIonhead, becuase he's the brainchild. Lionhead will share the same fate as Rare, thats why I used them as an example. A round table of key talent will be gone after the Kinect game is gone. Microsoft can replace them, but seriously, Fable was molyneux's promise to gamers since last generation which he constantly failed. This is where marketing is more powerful than the product itself. Fable cannot stand with the top WRPG's  this gen in my opinion, but if you liked it I leave you to it. Enjoy the franchise for what its worth to you.

i really liked molyneux in the past and his new stuff will be maybe cool as well but i see not much in fable 2 or 3 which a company would need him for in fable 4. the idea how fable works is there, new designers/developers/whatever could easily build a new fable with the concept and put some own ideas in it. i really don't see fable geting worse as it went with fable 3 without molyneux. i would even say it could get better now. not metascore 92+ better but metascore 85+ shouldn't be a problem for a decent team and enough time. it has to be hard to work under molyneux and his "visions" all the time. i don't want to know how many times he says something like "so we did that the last weeks but i dreamed of something else, screw it and start with that now" or something like that haha. maybe they can work "free" now not with that mastermind knowing everything better even if some might have great ideas in that company.

and maybe some other wrpgs's are better (i like skyrim a lot more as example) but fable is something differen't. i like fable because it's fable. many who like fable and bought not only one fable (which they would have if they wouldn't have liked the first or second one) think the same. i have no real alternative for fable on consoles (maybe for wii no clue).

millions like fable, even if it's objectively not as good as other games and with fable 3 a disappointment for many. it has a lot of fans and that's why they could make good money with fable 4 and that's why i can see them developing fable 4 anytime soon. i'm not saying it will happen, only i think chance is bigger than no new fable next gen.

Do you even realize what you are saying? You say Molyneux failed with Fable. So if he failed how is losing him a bad thing exactly? I don't see how you can sit here and say that if Fable 4 was a launch title it wouldn't be successful. Now I am not saying it won't be a good or bad game, but I am talking sales. Because obviously you need to understand how a game like Fable would be one of their biggest launch titles. It is a game that fans can spend up to 30 hours playing on their new systems unlike the other games we see that come out for launch titles. We usually get all the sports game for that year plus short shooter game and racing games.

If we don't get Fable 4 I can see Lionhead working on a brand new RPG under new direction. There will at least be 1 exclusive RPG from Microsoft.

Not sure about Kinect yet since we don't know if it will be something bundled with, built in to the system, or something you buy separately.

But off the top of my head

Kinect Sports and Dance Central 4 will bee there.

 

EDIT: You won't see a proper Halo or Gears for the launch. Those are something that come 1-2 years after the consol is out.
