i just want ps4 to play games qith the unreal engine 4 quality , i don´t need more than that.

60 fps ? or is that asking too much?

Sadly asking for 60fps probably is asking for too much -_-

The fact is the 360/PS3 could easily do 60fps while still having great looking games. Only if you instead do 30fps you can have even more effects etc going on.

And the majority of your consumers seemingly don't notice the difference between 30 and 60fps. So even with UE4 why would you go for 60fps when a competitor could do 30fps and everyone would exclaim how much better their game looked?

I think it was an insomniac developer had a really good blog post about this. Will go searching for it later.

Yeah I think they listed a survey; 30fps and fantastic graphics or 60 fps with worse graphics.  He mentioned this cause they hit a wall with Ratchet and Clank.  Still crazy that Tools of Destruction was at 60fps and looked so gorgeous.

We're talking about a platform that maybe will be released in the end of 2014, so a GPU that costs $500 nowadays will be cheap 2 years later.

PS4 is releasing Fall 2013.

For those people who think that PS4 will be as powerfull as WiiU:

Two, three days ago, someone asked Yoshida if WiiU will be more powerfull than PS4:

A lot of rumors are flying around about next gen consoles. Most of the rumors have some truth to them, based on what I have seen, worked with, or heard. However I am extremely annoyed by all the bitching and moaning that is going around the Internet atm about how pathetic rumored spec's are. So much that I have to reveal SOME of the things that are really going on behind closed doors.

Spec numbers that IGN posted are from first/early dev kits that have been replaced in mid January. Now I repeat what I know  is based on second dev kits that DO NOT represent the final product. Kits will mosT definitely change. Before I reveal SOME of the specs let me tell you that based on what we have heaRd in our studio from our publisher  is that Sony was undecided if they should go for a high end machine and take On MS or go for 1.5 leap. According to rumors a couple of Sonys first party studios are asking for high end machine to make games that are going to have noticeable generation leap. While Hirai and other heads over in Japan think it's time to think about profitability. For now "fight" is some where in between, edging more towards higher end. RAM has been raised from 2GB to 4GB when most of bigger publishers and first party studios that have saying went mental.

CPU yes it is true Sony is moving away from the CELL. Will there be BC? Our publisher doesn't care and we haven't heard a word about it. Again since these are dev kits we can't know more than that 99% ceLL is done and dusted. Second dev kit uses APU design AMD A8-3870k redesigned to have HD 6850 on board. And yes SI rumors are true. APU is paired with the HD Radeon HD 7900. No HDD rumors are untrue since it has aLready been confirmed that just like PS3,  every  "Orbis" SKU will have large HDD since Sony is very eager to make Orbis the media hub. O and one more thing Orbis will support 4 layer BR discs from day 1.

Next dev kit is hitting after E3.

Keep in mind a a rumour on pastebin late last year was the first leak to list both the Orbis and Durango codenames that were later verified. But as anyone can post stuff on pastebin take it with a truck load of salt like every other rumour.

But an APU with a HD6850 would be by far the most powerful GPU ever put on a APU the current top end being a 6620G which is just over a third of the transister count of a HD 6850. Combined with a 1.8 TFLOP Tahiti derived GPU and 4GB of fast RAM the PS4 would be a motherfucking beast of a console, and a much larger leap in GPU power than PS2-PS3. But CPU power while much better in some ways due to being a symetrical core X86 CPU isn't really a lot more powerful in several ways compaired to the CELL. But GPU power is much more important for a gaming machine.

"Let him Dream"

Yeah becasue at Sony's rate there wont be PS4

Even If Sony went for profit out of the gate and a modest upgrade, Orbis will most likely still be ahead of WiiU. Plus Sony First Party studios will go for Photorealistic looking games.i.e Heavy Rain, Uncharted, Killzone, GT etc.
