I was completely underwhelmed throughout the whole E3, in fact. It's like when I took Viagra at 12 years old with my then gf and was seriously on for 6 hours. I jogged, and did cartwheels and was still really on. I came and went, but was never completely content. It just wasn't ever right. It wasn't until much later than I came down from this damn hype.

Thank goodness for soy milk. It does a body better than milk, or so it seems.

I'm very happy with Nintendo this year. Wii U will be mine day 1.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

I agree with happyd. I do not need a bunch of adult oriented games, but Nintendo has to show more than Honey, I shrunk the fucking kids, Mario again times 3, and Nintendo bland for kindergartners.

SPUUUUURGE!!! I am so ENRAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many months have we been waiting for Iwata to drop the bomb and he dropped us what, diapers full of baby diarhea.

Still enjoying Xenoblade on my new (used) wii and Last story in a bit so I could care less about the Wii U. Until I hear about an online pokemon, I'm not interested. Call me later Nintendo!

I'm still not sure what you guys wanted insteadof what you got...

What could have Nintendo done to wow you?

Oh my god I was so scared to ask you what you thought of the conference. I'm there with you completely.

I'm a gamer that's been made of Nintendo for 90% of my life and I couldn't bear watching it after Pikmin and at a point the Lego game. I was holding out for one final sweet sweet announcement, even to the last line where Reggie said something like 'and we'll leave you with...' and it was fucking more of the Nintendo Land theme park game. I couldn't believe it. My all caps response in the Nintendo Press Conference thread is a nice indicator of what I thought.

Oh, don't worry, I read it, those five words which burned in my memory:

WHAT

THE

FUCK

WAS

THAT?

I will never forget LOL

maybe I was a bit forthright, but that was genuinely all I could think after the ending wasn't a tease for their next big game.

"I blame Microsoft for making Halo 4 the next Metroid Prime we've been asking for."

Its got the looks and the exploration, but I doubt that Halo 4 will use the kind of level design structure that makes Metroid Prime so excellent (and very replayable in my opinion).

On topic: Nintendo has failed before. So unless they start closing developers and cancelling games, I'm not worried.

You are seriously overreacting dude.
Honestly, what did Nintendo do that warrants this type of response?

Made me watch Nintendo Land at the end of their conference, because, you know, companies usually try to end their conference on a high note, this one could have been Smash Bros. Also, shouldn't have divided their conferences and should have just created a 2 hour super conference.

Nintendo Land went on too long I'll admit, but it could have been much worse, like Sonys 15 minute Wonderbook debacle. However, Sony did end with a "mindblowing" headshot in The Last of Us, one of their 2 titles worth mentioning.

Outside of the carnival appearance, look at the actual minigames WITHIN N-Land though... I noticed the presentation was no different from a Mario Party & some Animal Crossing but with Miis. We saw maybe 2/12 games within Nintendo Land.

When Iwata announced Smash Bros last year, Kid Icarus was not even finished yet! Sakurai had no work of any type dedicated to a new SB...Besides look at the previous Smash release years... 1999?....2001...2008...I dont expect a WiiU/3DS release until 2015, which makes perfect historical sense. Don't forget these games are more graphically intense than ever either.

Could you imagine watching Iwata talk for HALF AN HOUR on-stage? Absolutely not, and it was a brilliant idea to keep the two entities separate. Nintendo must have warned us at least 100 times during presentation how strapped for time they were, and they even went 10 minutes overboard.  The strategy they are taking with their release is so vintage and predictable that I have no cause for concern. As if WiiU was not enough, the have a whole conference for their handheld side of the business tomorrow....

If history has told me anything...after NSMBU sells gangbusters... there will be a Smash in 2015 revealed at E3 2014, a Mario 3D title next holiday with a Mario Kart about 6 months after that. There will be another Wii____ title that makes representative use of tablet function that summer. Zelda will be there 2014 since they already began work on it. Pikmin is near done, so whatever IP that team has worked on before, they'll go back to, or try to finish this 'new character' Miyamoto said he was trying to create. Retro, Monolith, and Next Level will have stuff to show at next year's E3, in addition to 3rd parties this year at TGS like Capcom & Square Enix.

Nintendo had to cover all the bases. Sure for launch they are receiving ports, but that is not anything new.

Black Ops, Assassins Creed, Tekken, Mass Effect, Batman, ZombiU, Darksiders, Ninja Gaiden, Alien. They have to start somewhere and games take time. Not everyone is exactly releasing new IPs around here either. What is missing? Bioshock? Medal of Honor? Resident Evil 6? GTAV (no one knows). Other titles have not been confirmed, but they have not been denied either.

This guy gets it

And i don't know what was so bad about 2012? It started slow, but then when i returned from Japan i bought Xenoblade and Kid Icarus at once, and haven't even cracked open Xenoblade yet because of Mario Tennis (which i'm going to dick around online a bit more before i move on to Xenoblade). Once Xenoblade is done, the Last Story is here, once that's done, NSMB2. Then maybe a bit of a lull, then the holiday rush. If NoA announces Fire Emblem for October, this year will be perfect. Hell, i still have Ambassador games to play through in the lull.

It was 2011 that was bad. Grasping at straws until the last two months, which were pretty tight (Zelda Kirby Mario Kart 3D Land)

I was more excited by the brief look at the 3ds lineup than any of the wii u stuff I saw(but then I did miss seeing PIKMIN 3)...even though it consisted of mostly previously announced stuff.

Having said that, I would still have to say that nintendo's presentation has won E3 2012...c'mon, they unveiled a new console and there were a few games in there that were new as well (even if they weren't the games I was hoping for)

Nintendoland looks like something you gotta experience for yourself...sure I was hoping for something more at the end too ("Oh, before we go, here's a quick look at metroid prime rebirth"etc). Sometimes we don't get what we want

You know what killed E3? Fanboy Expectations...

HOWWW??? We were given two years to wait! What has Retro been doing, making Mario Kart 7?? I don't want to play that shit anymore. I've played it time and time again. Give us something new, even Metroid Prime 4 I would be happy.

But what they gave us was below any possible expectation imaginable. It was an insult to longtime Nintendo fans, and an au revoir to people who have been loyal for so long...

I am frustrated.

I admit I would have liked to see something else too (I did say I was more impressed with the 3ds games they showed, even though they were stuff we already knew about!!!!)...I was not exactly in a state of awe while watching the conference and when it was over I was like: "is that it? JESUS!!!!".

But I've had a few hours to get over it and looking back I feel there were a few promising things in there (even if it's mostly stuff we already knew about)...I'm excited about mario, pikmin 3, assassins creed 3, rayman legends and zombi u (maybe Arkham City if it warrents a replay with the wii u controller). If all these games come out close to launch it'll be a pretty good lineup for a new console.

C'mon, don't be frustrated...nintendo always pull crap like this...you know they're working on better stuff... just aint ready to show it to the world yet.

Thanks for cheering me up bro, you know I need it. It's just that they've been pulling my beard for so long I feel like a fool.

What I expected at E3, just so you know:

I was expecting all the big 3rd party games to be named as simultaneous launches for Wii U. All the games mentioned on the other platforms. GTA, TR, SC, etc. etc. Why does this matter? Because the more of such games on the WiiU, the better Nintendo will get at it, the bigger the core community, the more change we will have in that direction (which is needed for Nintendo, look at how awesome BM:AC looked on WiiU, we need more of that.

I was expecting games from retro. What of the ND employees that are at Retro, what have they been working on?

Games like Metroid Prime and some sneak peak at games that are in development (3D Mario, Galaxy came out almost 5 years ago, in 2007).

Just this kind of thing really, I'm sick of Nintendo consoles being geared for kids! Am I a kid?? Damnit!

Oh... thanks tho. I really am just feeling like I've been led to believe. "We will serve core gamers first" my ass. "We will not alienate the hobbyist consumerbase" my ass. Ah, I am so annoyed.
