Forums - Nintendo - Do you think Wii U/3DS will be better than Wii/DS?

Which gen will be the best?

Wii U/3DS 76 70.37%

Wii/DS 15 13.89%

Atari 2600 (just wanna see the results) 17 15.74%

Total:108

3DS is a beast for graphics, sure it hasnt got the power of the Vita, but there isnt that wide a gap as say.. the PS3/Wii was. In fact i rarely hear the 3DS getting trolled over its graphics like the Wii does.

That's mainly because hardly anyone owns a Vita or cares about it.

True!

Im a gameplay over graphics man any day, but its great to see that Nintendo really beefed up the graphical capabilities on the 3DS, Resident evil looks gorgeous on it. Also 3DS has a lot of features that Nintendo has really improved on (mainly online), people are shunning Vita in favour of 3DS and its not just because 3DS is cheaper.

I think the Wii/DS will be the "best gen" in some ways while the Wii U/3DS will surpass it in others.

I don't know if Wii U sales will match the Wii, but I think the Wii U+3DS will have a lot of fantastic titles making the generation tons of fun.

3DS is already betetr than DS first year. let's wait for some Pokemon and a new zelda....

I don't think so, because the innovation factor is mostly gone, so i think it will feel new and cool, but not as much as the wii and ds did.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I think if the 3DS can keep its momentum and pick up in the West then it should be able to sell close to the DS. It is already on pace with I believe. The same goes with the Wii U. Remember that Nintendo all but abandoned the DS and Wii in its final year. Both have been on life support. The wii has been in a coma for a while! If they support the Wii U, unlike what they did for the Wii it should go in to sell well. Price is no object if the controllers are a hit.

The controllers will not be a hit. Compare the concept of motion control to the concept of tablet gaming for a moment. One is exciting, the the other might have some cool uses, but you really have to put in effort to imagine them, unlike, "Motion? Awesome!"

Right now Tablets are exciting and what many kids and adults want. Not to forget that the Motion controls are part of it and are not going anywhere on the Wii U.

Well then, if they are so exciting. Ask random people what they would think about a console with a tablet controller, and see if you get the same reactions as when the Wii was new.

I LOVE ICELAND!
