Where do you get money? , I know a lot of jobless people that are probably more rich than me, but I always wonder where they get their pay from, family?

I know some people have responded like they think I'm paying at something that only kids should play and that its 'a phase.' Like I'm trying to re-live my youth or something odd that will go away in a few months.

I have many interest, and enjoy many things, I do my best just skip over the people that just don't want to have fun. To me the person that thinks I am 'wasting all my time' playing computer/console games, is just as bad as the person saying all motion games are wrong. Not everybody is going to like everything, but I find it's more interesting to find out why someone likes something over why they hate something.

I play computer games, and I like to garden. One seems more acceptable because it’s been around longer. I think gaming should be view as reading, gardening, or watching sports or any other creative recreation.

I wish more people would see other things like that. As an opportunity I may or may not try. (But I do realize so much of the ‘this is better than that’ popcorn drama would dry up.)

gaming is ok if its in small doses if your whole life is gaming and you play a game everyday for like over 7 hours then you are a loser imo. Same goes for TV if you just sit there watching for hours on end. Ive met alot of people who can play games for hours and hours on end and they tend to not have very good socialising skills. If people wanna do that thats cool but you have to accept the fact that you are nerd and cant get defensive when someone calls you a "nerd" or "loser".

So to anyone who plays games on a daily basis and can play it for long stretches of time, you are nerd and a loser and you need to get a life and if you have a partner and doing that then your real immature and need to grow up cause your partner deserves better than that.

Ok I play video games a lot. 25h/week average. I also have a great job, I earn more money then the average, specially if you consider my age. I have a hot girlfriend, we're together since 5 years and live together since one (she still hasn't figured out I'm a loser). I speak three languages and people in Switzerland don't even notice I'm not a native speaker, altough I came here as a teenager and had to learn German from scratch.

So if some ignorant fool would call me a loser because I'm a gamer I'd just laugh in his face and would ask him "who the fuck are you, man?"

see, here some ignorant people. who the fuck are you to call somebody a loser? Maybe these "losers" live a happier life than you...Or do you think you have the right to tell people how they should live?

Is it so complicated to understand that what's awful to you can be awesome for somebody else? We all have different tastes in food, music, sports, hobby's etc. So anybody can live the way they want as long as they're happy.

oh is that right? so lets use a father as an example who has kids and a wife. So what if this gamer neglects his family duties to play games cause it makes him "happy" then thats ok? That is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. Just because something makes you happy doesnt mean its right. Some serial killers kill people cause it makes them happy doesnt make it right does it! Come on dawg you cant seriously believe that

Ok, if somebody gets harmed by the way people live, then sure it's not legit. People still have to be responsible, specially if they have kids and wife.

On the other hand, they're still free to choose what they do with their free time, and all options are valuable, as long as the person is comfortable with it and noboby gets harmed. Maybe the "loser" has more fun playing a game than the "cool guy" has dating a girl...

Watching TV is an accepted hobby in society whereas Video Games is a much younger industry and not as influencing as television. Take a look at the situation of alcohol. It's ok to consume a lot of alcohol but taking a small amount of drugs can lead to tons of problems.

When I'm talking with people about video games they seem to be interested in the subject or they're often explaining their connection to it (for instance, they played Tetris in their younger days). The verdict 'loser' is probably linked to the amount of time you are spending on video games or to the genre you are playing. For me, it's sometimes hard to justify my pleasure when playing Pokémon ;).
