I have a feeling this is going to be the best game this gen!

As mayor it's going to be payback time, Tom!

Do you like the Mayor idea? I'm wondering how it could play into the game, I liked being a normal (actually... not normal since everyone else is obviously an Animal) Villager.

I think you'll have the choice of not being mayor after a while. Just some scripted scenes in the beggining and them it's leisure time.

But I like  the idea, it can make for some interesting decisions (like creating holidays or no-pants days)

I might make this into an official thread when we get a bit more information on the game

I just picked up the gamecube version to see what all the fuss is about. If I like it I may take a better look at animal crossing 3DS.

GC Animal Crossing...  good times!

But the DS version is even better.

Even though it's a great game, I suggest you don't play it, wait for the 3DS game. Because more than any other game, this follows nintendo's one per generation "rule". So if you play the GC game now a lot, it'll be a long time before you'll want to play another version.

I imagine the GC version wasn't that expensive, and it's good for him just to see if the series interests him at all- as mentioned though, if it does seem to be your sort of thing, then don't go overboard with it- wait for the 3DS one :p

Great Pick-Up! That version is really, really awesome!

DS Version is good for it's, obvious, portability.

Paying only 5 dollars for the GC version is chump change considering the GC version has a decent amount of NES games and each VC game is 5 dollars online.   Look on Gamefaqs for the codes or I could post a few here.  I used to play the hell out of Balloon Fight since it reminds me of Joust (Atari 2600).  Excitebike is also a classic.  They were going to release the first Zelda but never did due to wanting to sell it for money.

  • NES Games

Just tell them to Nook by saying ''Other Things'' and then ''Say Code''.

I have no motivation to play any of those NES games.

What do you mean play? They're only there for you to have your own retro room, of course!

I own 90 percent of every N64 game ever made. I have all the retro that I want. What is that second game from the end? Battletoads?

The only problem with Animal Crossing is that they're never going to surpass this kind of of collection.

Hmm... Maybe with nintendo memorabilia... like old cereal boxes or this, for example

Even Consoles, like all the colors of GBC would be nice
