I will never buy another Animal Crossing as long as I live. The first one for GameCube and the DS version were quite enough, thank you. I have a strict policy nowadays of only playing actual game.

What defines a "game" to you?

Let me be clear:  I've through with wandering around pulling weeds, picking fruit, digging up fossils, and chatting endlessly with anthrapamorphic animals.  I've paid for that experience twice, and there is just nothing about City Folk or this new 3DS version that makes me want to buy in.  I'm over that series, probably forever.  Moved on.

If the online is good, I'm buying two copies of this.

Hey, why is this thread so empty? Show some love for the game, people!

I'm totally hyped for it. My girlfriend played Animal Crossing on Gamecube but neither of us got around to buy the DS version (why? I have no idea). I always wanted to give the series a try. Looking forward to the game! And I damn sure hope this will make my girlfriend purchase a 3DS haha It's the perfect game for a handheld.

The DS version was great lol

+ No idea why nobody wants to show love for AC- maybe nobody likes it anymore ;_;

got the GC one and loved it.  got the DS version and it felt like a direct port of the GC game -- stop playing it at the end of the 4 hour train ride on which i started it.  the wii version looked like another direct port to me but i'll admit i never played it.  i'll consider getting another AC when nintendo considers improving the gameplay.

I'm hyped also and I hope they add more to AC than they have in the past. I know you can now swim and you are the mayor.

If you want any help with AC: City Folk then let me know since I have millions of bells just laying around. I haven't picked that game up in awhile but I would be down to get back into it a little before AC comes out on the 3DS.

Are we 3DS friends yet? If not, send me a PM please!

What's your 3DS username? I'm not sure if you're on my list or not

I'll definitely visit your town when the game's out :p

Sent you a pm.

My 3DS username is the same as here on the forum.

I remember my stepson buying Animal Crossing for his GC. Since you could have 4 players, he convince myself and his mom to play with him. Within a few weeks he was bored of it and never played again (he was 12 and did not like reading), but the wife and I were hooked on trying to collect all the stuff, meet all the visitors, experience all the events, etc. We continued to play for a just over a year. When the DS version came out, we both played it for about 4 months, at which point I stopped, but my wife kept on playing with friends online which really maintained her interest.
IF the 3DS version has expanded the game play and the experience, I would be very tempted to pick it up on day one. IF it is the same basic game with 3D effects, I will probably pass.

One bad ass thing about the GC version was the NES games that you could collect and play.  They took the NES games out for all the other versions due to Nintendo wanting to sell the old school games (first through GBA then Virtual Console).  I rebought the GC version a year or two ago after I realized that I got rid of it a long time ago (just for the NES games).

Will be quite interested to see how this game turns out really. I played & absolutely loved the original Animal Crossing on the GC.

Never played the DS version, but I did buy the Wii version. It was a very good game, but it only interested me for a week or two before I thought "I've seen this all before". Apart from the City, it was pretty much the same game.

With that said, I actually managed to get my mum hooked on the game - she played about 2 hours every night for at least 3 months, ha.

Yes, this one is looking fantastic. Will get.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

What's new from the DS version? I see you can swim now, what else?

I don't think anyone is more excited about this game than I am!

I seriously can't wait! Epic year for the 3DS when both 2D Mario and Animal Crossing come only months apart! Simply my favorite games... of all!
