The sales are down thats true, but this time of the year was always weak for gaming. The sales will increase later this year (fall, winter). I bet we wont see any new consoles until 2014 except the Wii U but this has been revealed last on e3 and still has no release date.

no clue but the world is changing faster and faster it sounds odd that it should work vice versa for consoles. sure sales will increase in the holidays but they will be lower than last year and next year, the sales would be horrible. companies don't wait to release the successors of their products till the current product dies. they release the new ones before this will happen. it's ot like they would make much more money with a 2014 release. sales will be so low then those few sales aren't needed anymore.

have you seen the last financial report from microsoft and the increase of r&d in the devision with xbox? i can't believe they use hundred millions for r&d almsot three years before release.

They are working on a new Box but they have nothing revealed yet, and its very unlikely that they will reveal anything on this years E3 and this is the biggest stage for announcments like this. I am sure we wont see anything on the Gamescom and TGS is a no go for Microsoft anyway. My guess is that they will reveal it on next years E3 and release it q1 2014 or q3 2014.

why not a reveal like for the 360? they revealed the console in march (may for public) and released it in october. they could easily reveal the console on next years gdc or so to release the console end of 2013

Unlikely, most people dont even know about those events. I mean "normal" people not gamers geeks or nerds no offense. But everything is possible, only time will tell.

you know how they did it with the 360 right? they presented it inmarch to experts and in may on television. much more people know about television as about e3^^

Well I don't think it's a smart idea let the Wii U stay alone (with no consoles other than PS3 and Xbox360) two years in the market. This could lead to a Nintendo cheap console with proper third party support, which together with all those Nintendo big games (Wii Sports, Wii Fit, 2D Mario and Mario Kart) will be really strong and hard to beat.

My prediction for the release of both (PS4 and NextBox) are late 2013.

no doubt about that . I actually don´t recall what they did with the 360 I just heard from some school mates about it

Plausible, but not likely. Thief 4 could easily release for 360 once 720 is already out. I just don't see how that is proof of anything.
