This holds true for Americans as well. They can flip flop between whatever company is "hotter" in the media at the time. At this point (and they even spoke about it on Bonus Round) we kinda already know what the gamers console is right about now. It's kind of set in stone, that Nintendo has given up on the Wii and is trying to jump the gun on Wii U sales (which I think will be slower than normal), Microsoft is copying Sony's ten year plan, but releasing is causing a first party drought and increasing entertainment options for casuals, and Sony is still continuing to get stronger with exclusives even after five years of solid exclusives year after year out of the seven they've been out. At this point whether you hate them or not the gamers console is the PS3.

Its a PlayStation, ofcourse everybody wants it the most, for a great price that is. I'm anticipating for a 499$€ pricetag at launch.

You can guarantee nothing. Stop getting emotional and trying to bet with people and start to think. Xbox having a grip of the US market doesn't mean anything. Sony has dominated the US home market with the PS1 and PS2 but they didnt 't have the same success with the PS3. If you use logic and think rationally, you'd say everything can happen.

Ok its not as simple as that and you know it. I could say people in Europe and Japan simply bought PS3s just because they had a PS2. 

You sound overly optimistic for Sony....given this whole gen was one giant step back for them, not only as a gaming division but for an entire company. 

Ok the bold is interesting. Firstly you cant "copy" being out on the market. Being on the market for 10 years isnt something you can patent. Therefore to say "copy" is ridiculous. But even so I applaud MS for keeping to that given how short xbox 1 lasted. 

You act like gamers themselves arent interested in entertainment apps....further more you act like gamers only care for exclusives. It always seems to escape the minds of a PS3 fan but real gamers buy great games regardless of its availability. Multiplats are the bread and butter of this gen whether you like it or not. And sorry but more or less 360 is THE multiplat console of choice this gen. Id say that 90 million gap in software sales shows 360 is the gamers choice this gen. 

Sony can pump out exclusive after exclusive, but with most having sales like Starhawk, this very site counters your point because it shows PS3 exclusive sales are always less then that of comparable multiplats.

And how did the sales turn out again?

Anyone with even a remedial education in statistics would know that this in no way can represent the world, because only those who go to IGN would answer. This wouldn't even be representative of IGN, as it was on a volunteer basis.

In order for this survey to have any truth behind it, IGN would have to conduct a simple random sample of all gamers across the world. They clearly did not do this.
