The old Rare doesn't exist, the original developpers are gone. Thats why they cannot create the magic from the past.

first part... so?

second part.... how do you know?

this is news about a developer developing new exclusives

if this was ANY sony studio you would be dancing and screaming and saying "AMAZING!"

just give it a rest will you.

Not that I'm defending him but I'd just add:

He knows the original developers are gone because they are - just read up a little on Rare.  The founders left the company in 2007 - they were the original developers.  Even if he meant the developers during the N64 era, a huge chunk of them left when MS acquired Rare in 2002 (to form Free Radical, famous for Timesplitters).

You could say the same about someone like Naughty Dog though, but they seem to have found a new direction without Jason & Andy, whereas Rare have been lacking direction for quite some time now.

I'll leave it there anyway.

Damn, for some reason I misread that as "Retro" and I got super excited for Nintendo.

But now I am excited for Rare! I hope they do something original and awesome.

Might be worth a note for someone to make a new topic for

MS apparently has started another new studio

Microsoft Studios - Playful Learning

Microsoft Studios - Playful Learning and Microsoft Studios - The Connected Experiences

that's much,you can call Nsanity

Well that's good to know. Even though Kinect Sports is Rares most success franchise(sales wise), I'd like to see them go back and forth with traditional controller games also.

Meh, Rare is not what it used to be... shame, they were awesome in the past. I hope they can bring great games as before... but I´ve been waiting too long :(

Sounds like Rare is finally back on track! Ever since they joined MS they've done crap games, so it's nice to hear that they're gonna go what they do best: action oriented games!

And I'm kinda psyched to see what Lionhead studios are working on! I enjoyed Fable 2, but it left some things to wish for... And a "MMO-like" RPG sounds like just the right thing to lure me into getting a NextBox =D Next gen's gonna ge awesome!

if you think Kameo and PDz were bad...

Personally i loved the games.

Well, I would rather see them make new IP's than poor sequels to their old ones. Too bad they didn't start these investments before Chris Seavor left/got fired though. He and Robin Beinland (who miraculously still works at Rare) could easily have make an excellent sequel to Conker's Bad Fur Day.

If there is ever such a thing as 'AAA' Kinect Sports, or Viva Piñata, it's a way to start the next-gen

You might want to read what I said again. I know the original team have gone, to that I said "so". I said "how do you know" to him saying they can't make great games any more. That's just bollocks.

I read it as:

"The old Rare doesn't exist"

"So?"

Followed by:

"The original developers are gone"

"How do you know?"

I apologise if that's not what you meant.
