Sounds like Rare is finally back on track! Ever since they joined MS they've done crap games,

Again?! This is just not true.

Kameo was a really great game! Probably one of the most underrated this gen.
Banjo and Perfect Dark remakes were well executed.
Kinect Sports  and Kinect Sports 2 are good games.
Banjo Kazooie Nuts n Bolts is a good game as well.
Viva Pinata is not that bad either.

However, Perfect Dark Zero and Grabbed by the Ghoulies were disappointing, but that is not enough to say that they only released crap games.

When you check metacritic you will see that their games are in the same region like InFamous, Infamous2, Warhawk, Starhawk and Twisted Metal and people praise these titles. They just seem to have a different target audience and the internet-core-gamer feels left out so he starts talking nonsense. And saleswise the Kinect Sports franchise alone is outperforming all of these games combined.

Remakes don't count... That's like giving credit to Grezzo for making Zelda: OoT. The gameplay and design were all laid out - all they do is hotting up the graphics.

And yes, Kinect sports are good and fun games - but I remember the days of the 90's when Rare used to release awesome games, games people still play today.

Have a look at this list: Donkey Kong Country, Battletoads, Golden eye 007, Conker, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Wizard and Warriors - and that's just a few of em...

Now have a look at this: Viva Piñata and Kinect Sports... that's almost all their new IP's the last 7 years... Conker and Banjo all dates back to the Nintendo days, so don't credit MS with those...

It's painfully obvious that Rare ain't the same anymore! But I hope they find their stride again!!

Nice speech, but you missed to mention why the recent rare games are crap. They are not and that was my point.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

But you gotta admit that they were a lot more creative before - and I don't see any of their newest titles being considered classics in a few years. After reading this news I'm hoping they can release some games that gamers (and not cusual gamers) will enjoy!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I don't have to admit something that I did not dispute.

But even if you didn't dispute it, you could still admit it ;)

Rare? This Rare

`

arent they dead?

Well Rare is a huge developer....releasing TWO games at launch, Viva Pinata one year later, and releasing Banjo Nuts and Bolts with Viva Pinata 2 in the same year in 2008.

Rare has a lot of man power and I find it hard to believe kinect sports takes it all up lol.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I honestly wish Rare all the best with these projects, and I hope they turn out well - they probably had the best showing for the launch of the 360 even if the titles themselves weren't overwhelmingly stellar. Viva Pinata though, probably the best game they've made in years.

With that said, I hope they don't do what they did this generation - go all-out with launch and early titles and then abandon the console later on in favour of Kinect titles (although admittedly, that was probably a decision on Microsoft's part). Even if Rare have been very underwhelming under Microsoft, I still think they've got the potential to be a great company again with a bit of a push.

The old Rare doesn't exist, the original developpers are gone. Thats why they cannot create the magic from the past.
