and once more...the rest of canada looks on annoyed that they have see and hear quebec once again, whining and bitching while still getting a better deal than the rest of the country.

the rest of canada manages just fine. we are all tired of constantly hearing about our most corrupt province that feels they are better than the rest of us and always needs the spotlight.

You'll stop being so annoyed at the Province of Quebec once the rest of Canada and the Province of Quebec itself accept that both are part of a whole.

Or.... When they both accept that we both have nothing in common and just let Quebec be a country.

God help us if Quebec becomes a country.  The country wouldn't last 10 years with that kind of corrupted politicians at the helm.

Because a government that gave up on the Kyoto protocol, that banished the firearms registry, who wants to reopen the debates on abortion and who lied to the population on the price of military jets is much better?

ppl of quebec care about the environment, they dont want guns in our streets, they dont want to go back into the 50s when it comes to women's rights and most of them are usualy against going to wars (depending on the context offcaurse). This shows how ppl of Quebec have nothing in common with ppl of other provinces like lets say Alberta for example, and I didnt even mention the differences when it comes to language and culture.

He is right though, the government of Quebec is too corrupted to govern a country. Think about everything that goes wrong in the province and think that's with the help from Canada... now remove Canada's financial aid and let's see how our government deals with the taxes. Almost everything we build costs way more, our taxes don't end up paying what's it's supposed to pay, too much corruption. Until we get our act together and kick those bastards out of the throne we can't become a country. I would really hate it here if we made it now, Quebec is sick and being a country won't make it feel better.

Pretty much.  Middle class really doesn't like their tax dollars going to help the lower class at all.  It ends up being votes for them.  Help to the poor is a token handout meant to placate collective guilt, that really doesn't help anyone.

It is like what George Carlin said:

This is how it goes almost every nights...

That was this tuesday may 22 2012... more than 250 000 people in the streets... go quebec go! I personnaly think that everyone in the world should be able to go to universities, knowledge shouldn't be only for the rich, all humans have potential and this potential is sleeping when we don't put it to good use... this is a good fight, it's time to fight for it.

I was there on this historical day.  People still believe the only reason people are protesting is because of tuition fees...  They couldn't be more wrong.

People are sick of paying such high taxes when the government doesn't even use the money  where they say they will.  And when they increase all the taxes again, tuition fees, when they tax heath, etc... and the end result is that that money benefits only to those "inner circle" friends of the government, people have good reasons to be mad.

I agree. We should be thinking about something other than economic efficiency when thinking about educating our people. We as humans deserve a well-rounded liberal education with sufficient breadth and depth to prepare us to be more than producers.

First of all the Kyoto protocol was a sham by the liberals to pretend to act on the environment.
The Cons just say F*(* the environment.

Both are acting wrong really.

Quebec is sort of seen as a just a strange wierd place from the rest of Canada these days. The tensions between Quebec and the rest of Canada will increase especially with the West growing in power.

Before it was Ontario, Rest of Canada and Quebec.
Now its Ontario, Quebec, Rest of Canada and The West.

"Alot of ppl use the argument that we have the lowest tuition fees in Canada, This is thrue but we are also those who pay the most taxes in the country and by far. We also have the lowest minimum salary cap. So it's rly hard to compare."

Yes even with billions from other provinces you guys still cannot afford the social programs?
What does that mean?
The local Quebec economy is far too weak to support such programs...

Thats we always laugh at Quebeckers.

We hate the oilsands!!!
We want more money from equalization.

Just shut up already!!

If you want to make a socialist state go ahead, but do so on your own dime.

I live in Ontario and I thought we had the award for being the stupidist province but at least people in Ontario have realiized that its a brave new world.

People are more and more realising that the way we live is ridiculous. Less and less people think that it's "normal" to pay taxes to get nothing in return. It isn't normal to get so much money from Canada and having 2 taxes and still struggle, the prime minister needs to be kicked out.

Just because some people accept to be in debt to be educated doesn't mean I also have to bend over and take it in the as* for the sake of some corrupt governments, banks and mafia. This isn't a fight only for tution hikes but for the right to get what we pay for. Like we said earlier, we have two taxes report to do, 15% VAT, we get help from Canada but we still can't pay most things, we still have the worst roads in America, we can't build bridges that don't fall, we have now a new medic fee to help construct hospitals that still cost in the millions but 7years later they're still not built. I could go on and on but then you'd fall asleep if you haven't already...

Here so you understand why people are angry... watch this 2min video it's very interresting and could be applied to your government as well.

Problem is what the protest leaders want is to take Quebec more in the direction of higher taxes and more spending.

Problem in Quebec is many fold....

There is no strong internal economy...
Meaning there is no sector doing very very well in Quebec.
In Ontario you have the financial sector which is very strong.

The govt spends to much money on social programs it cannot afford, therefore it reduces spending elsewhere.
