I want it to be more like...

Mega Man!!!

Hear me out: wouldn't it be awesome if you could choose which of the dungeons to start with? Kinda like how you can choose which boos to fight in Megaman. Choosing the dungeons in right order makes it easier cuz you're gonna get the right tools and weapons to complete the next dungoen faster/easier.

This would work nicely for the first few dungeons! If you find one too hard you just have to unlock the right tool in another dungeon. But to move beyond these first few stages you'll need all of the weapons =)

whatyathink?

Sounds like the first Zelda game on the NES. You were free to go to almost any dungeon from the start. Though some of the dungeons you were not able to progress to the end unless you grabbed an item from another dungeon.

Yeah that's true! I love it that you can choose which dungeon to enter first -and that you don't know if it's the first, or second, of fifth dungeon!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I've played a bit of Zelda 1 (haven't beaten it yet) and I think the next Zelda game might benefit from a more open world like that, as long as I at least have an idea of where I'm supposed to go and I can mess around until I decide to go there. I'd like there to be a decent amount of monsters in the over world, Zelda 1 had to much while OoT and TP had to little, SS I think had just about the right amount of monsters in its 3 areas. Keep the more linear, puzzle filled dungeons as they have more personality to me then just room after room after room of monsters, though I guess they could mix in a few rooms of just monsters. Have something like the goddess cubes and materials collection to upgrade equipment from SS in the next Zelda to give me extra stuff to do. If they decide with another remake instead I'd like it to be Majora's Mask.

It's hard to predict what would be the best choice (to max out sales) for the next Zelda game because there are many type of Zelda fans with different tastes.

We have old-school Zelda fans demanding a new 2D Zelda.

We have classic 3D Zelda fans waiting for a 3D realistic Zelda in HD with traditional controls.

...

We have even new (Wii) Zelda fans (me included) that see the Wii Tablet as dated controller compared to the Wii Remote and are expecting Zelda U to have basically a improved version of SS controls.

I can't see how Nintendo can make everybody happy with a single game.

Nintendo could always do what they are doing with Mario. They could have The New Legend of Zelda series and the 3D Zelda Series and caiter to both audiences.

That is true, perhaps Nintendo could split the series in 3 (2D, 3D with realistic graphics and tradctional controls and 3D with non realistic graphics and motion controls) and see how each one of them will sell.

What about VR.. We know that wii-u is a VR console.. so why not next zelda..?

Zelda is perfect for vr... (wii-r)

ooh, you know what would be cool for me. an option in the next one to use traditional controls or motion controls. Although with the tablet being pushed i doubt this would be an option. But i'd love to play another zelda with wm+. But with some refined controls. The bow could have been pulled off better (it was alot better in wii sports resort) and the swordplay was not as good as red steel 2 (after you tweak the settings). If i could get those 2 things fixed my only other main complaint would be a better musical instrument mechanic. The last 3 instruments have been pretty lame to use. Ooh, i wouldn't mind using the wiimote as the consuctors baton from ww.
