Hmmm... possibly. I get the feeling Sony like to push stuf at Gamescom as Europe is their strongest market, and as it's a PS3 exclusive...

i dont expect to see anything on it before TGS. i'm sure i'll love it when it comes out, until then there's lots to play.

Sorry plain forgot about gamescom, my mistake there, but i would be surprised if it showed there rather than TGS (pleasantly surprised of course)

The trailer released last January showed that the game had progressed significantly, I expect that Versus XIII will be a surprise announcement on SONY's or *gasp* possibly Microsoft's stage. If not, it should be at TGS. If it doesn't make an appearance at either then I'll be seriously disappointed in Square Enix.

I still want the game to be re-launched as Final Fantasy XV.

If Square continues to do this, they wont have the chance to be an RPG POWERHOUSE again. And if you think about it, looks like even SE does not give a damn anymore, they are surviving thx to EIDOS franchises. And they are capitalizing that. They even are developing Thi4f, and have hired Cory Balrog so they can make another Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver game (obviously).

This actually makes by far the most sense, FF13-2 showed that people were not happy with FF13 and any association with it is a bad thing, Square changed the name of FF Agito 13 to Type-0 so they have done this kind of thing before quite recently.

Changing the name of the game at this point is probably the only way they'd be able to get FF15 out in the West before the next wave of consoles are fully out yet anyway (in keeping with the 3 main line titles per gen theme, if you want to exclude MMO's include sequels :P).

If they don't announce FF15 at this E3, there is no way it would be out before January 2014 in the west (assuming a TGS reveal this year for Japan launch in December 2013), imo, that's too late in the game for this gen, the 8 gen will have been fully underway and square will be dealing with a situation with a development team being nearly 2 years behind every other developer.

Perhaps I've overestimated your anticipation for the title? If it were me and I was highly anticipating a really great game, I'd be pretty annoyed at stuff like this, though I've yet to experience a case quite like what SE has managed to do with this game.

Right now I'm really looking forward to Paper Mario like A LOT, I'm super annoyed at the lack of info and I haven't even known about the title for very long, certainly nowhere near as long as VsXIII. Maybe you just lost interest along the way and that's why you don't feel as passionate about it as I thought, but I honestly expected a different reaction, I know that's not how I'd react if this was happening to a game that I was higly anticipating.

...I was kinda sad for another reason when I wrote that, though ~I had just finished this super epic game and I was really sad that it was over >_<

If they don't rename this to XV then I suspect they'll release it with the next batch of consoles. In fact, it wouldn't entirely surprise me if Versus moves to next gen consoles or at least a WiiU port.
