I just find it hard to believe this all started because Japanese boys decided it was cool to be emo...

i believe china isn't a big problem anymore. i believe they aren't growing much for some years now because of their restrictions. the biggest problem is africa and india (and some other asian countries), they grow unbelievable fast, as more people there live as more people need help, waterproblems and things like that are horrible there and they still grow so fast...

one reason why people in developed countries don't get as many kids is because they don't need them anymore to care for them when they will be old. in the past, people got 10 kids because they "needed" them to help on the farm and to help them if they can't work anymore for themselve. there wasn't a annuity insurance in the past, if you didn't have kids and couldn't work, you couldn't live anymore.

and yes you are right and asbad as it sounds, more rights for woman means more demographic problems in developed countries. they want to start own careers now, no wonder many don't want to get some kids anymore because they wish to climb up the career ladder. it's good that they have these rights, but its bad for the demographic change in countries with a very low birth rate.

So far China's population is still on the rise though you are right it suspected to slowly decline in 20 -30 years. Even when it declines it will still be way above a healthy amount and many of the people will gain greater standards of living and put a larger strain on the earths finite resources. I still consider their population a huge problem.

Yes, I agree developed countries no longer use children for monitary gain which is a good thing. I am still surprised that at least in urban areas of India the population would be growing so fast. They often even do not keep female children alive especially if they are the first born. In the rural areas though I can see that they would still use both sexes for needed labor, but as far as i know the population is very urban and often tries to emulate the US in language and tight-knit working communities. I would think these types of individuals would be moving towards the idea that having less children is a good think. Hard to judge.

Yeah, I would say that carrers would definantly give women less reason to want more children, but I also see it on both sides as males no longer want many children and want a wife/gf that works. I know I do.

thought china's growth is a little bit lower these days but this pic also doesn't look so bad for me. their growth is maybe 0.5% yearly. it just looks so crazy because they have so many people there. if they would lose the same percentual as germany does it would look crazy as well.

You're too late for China. The population growth in China has slowed down almost to a standstill.

Yeah, China is pretty much in the middle.

And Germany I don't think that birth rate here is a bad thing, if we would be more open to immigrants.

For some reason, I'm not surprised. I know the porn angle of this has been done to death in this thread but it's the only source I have. Anyway, look at those Japanese porno flicks on any porn site. I bet that 1/3 of them feature some Japanese female getting raped, groped, and generally abused by somebody of the opposite sex. At first, I thought it was some sort of weird fetish. Now, I see that it was actually social commentary on the state of human sexuality in Japan.

Now, off to do more research!

That's an interesting take, considering the main article in this thread suggests that Japanese women are tired of these "sissy" men who aren't manly enough. That contradicts your post quite potently.

 

Perhaps it's that Japan is too bipolar in nature, for males. They're either shemales or have a male-superiority complex. :P


I like your thinking.

It depends how you interpret "sissy". I mean "sissy" can still mean "demanding, rude and obnoxious". If you add in "uncharistmatic" then I think that's what a few of my japanese buddies would say.

don't you know what people do with facebook accounts posted in an internet forum? not that they will maybe rape your account, if you are unlucky they will rape your friends accounts as well now. (a friend of mine was so unlucky, his friends got bombarded by some freaks)
