Nintendo this gen: dislike everything, I haven't enjoyed 1 Ninty game this gen, I hate the motioncontrols, I hate the interface of Wii, I hate Nintendo fans, I hate Super Mario Galaxy, Gamecube was the best Nintendo console ever

Microsoft:

dislike everything since 2008, for some reason MS decided to release less exclusive games after 2008

dislike their timed exclusive games, timed exclusive dlcs and timed exclusive demos like RE6, its ridicilous

dislike paying for online

like: Lost Odyssey, shame about the 4th disc

dislike the Kinect

Sony:

dislike the Move

dislike the slow XMB, especially in-game

like: everything else, the company I enjoyed the most this gen, from games like Valkyria Chronicles to Journey to Uncharted, great variety.

Best reasoning so far

I don't see anything positive in there. This thread is to get both of your ideas and opinions about companies out, not just the negative.
(Or was that "Nintendo this gen" supposed to point towards you liking them in other gens.?)

Mentally. :P

(There was no 2D Mario for Nintendo 64 or Gamecube. That was a lot of wasted potential.)

Do you picture yourself playing a 2d mario with the n64 or gamecube d.pad?

With the N64 controller; yes, extremely easy to imagine.

With the GC controller? Why would I use the D-pad when there is the most comfortable stick ever made next to it?

Around the Network

Nintendo

Dislike- Inability to launch games WW, poor online understanding (though it is improving...slowly)
Like- Library of exclusives, new IP's coming through, general quality.

Sony

Dislike- Costs, general arrogance of the company
Like- Some of their exclusives, console design

Microsoft

Dislike- Lack of exclusives, clunky design, butchering Rare
Like- Great online presence

I'm uncertain how anyone can dislike anything about the exclusives selection of Nintendo and Sony (nowadays), as they have a wide variety. Heck, Nintendo have brought back Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Kirby, 2D Mario etc., and are even releasing a few new IP's these days (Dillon's Rolling Western, Pullblox, Samurai etc.) and Sony have a lot of promising new IP's, like Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Ratchet and Clank as well. There really is something for everyone with these two devs. It's impossible, I believe, to not like ANYTHING from either dev...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Nintendo
Pros - Awesome games that I can show my family and non-gaming friends. Not concerned with massive budgets or bleeding-edge graphics. Pure gaming at its best.
Cons - Too many dormant old IPs and not enough shiny new IPs. Poor relations with many third-party developers. Friend codes.

Microsoft
Pros - Excellent third-party support. Xbox Live Arcade is really great. Controller is nice.
Cons - Everything else about Xbox Live. Unreliable hardware.

Sony
Pros - Some really neat, fun, and artistic IPs (Little Big Planet, ModNation Racers, Ratchet & Clank, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus). Good hardware.
Cons - I don't like many of their currently-active first-party IPs (Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, and Resistance). I'm losing all hope for The Last Guardian.

Pretty well then, personally i found the n64 dpad more stiff than its snes version and the controler itself awkward, i wouldnt like to always hold the stick in a direction on a 2d platformer, i find buttons easier and confortable for the job. Anyway was just asking.

Congratulations. Your trap worked. It was a totally obvious trap, but it worked regardless.

Yes, it was all part of my plan. (This was not an edit.....)

Nintendo: I like mario kart and the old school Mario Bros battletoads and a lot of retro games. Now, I hate the wii's lack of HD graphics and find the games they have without stories to get old fast.

MS: I love the continued improvement of live and always enjoy a Halo with brand new campaign and online, so that only excludes one of them. Also love their great downloadable only games which is better than Sony's. Hate their use of timed exclusives and lack of many big budget owned new Ips this gen.

Sony: Love the company's many IPs, most of which I discovered in PS2 era. Always has the 3rd parties and 1st party games I have come to enjoy the most, and a great free online service and a very useful internet service, NHL center ice and much more. Easily offers me the best of the three.
Hate the slow doanload times. lack of cross game chat and the early high price, but hey I could name many more likes and dislikes for each company.
