Honestly, I don't believe DQX will boost hardware, especially the Wii. Maybe a 800k FW combined (Wii-Wii U versions) and a 80k boost for both consoles.

800k? U MAD? You know how big Dragon Quest is in Japan, right? Even selling double that combined would be classed as a horrific failure...

We know too little. I expect it'll launch this year, or early next, but we really have nothing to go on :/

I don't think those are bad numbers for a MMORPG released on a dead console like the Wii and one with a little install base like the Wii U. It could end as high as 2M or even 10M LTD, but not starting high as you suggest. Remember also that you'll havo to pay a fee, so it doesn't matter the amount of copies sold, but the amount of people paying to play online.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

@Cone.

Use the link I gave you cone, it's sorted on NA. Then tell me what you think.

@MH. In Japan, 100% agreed. Yup, japanese devs are paramount for any handheld in Japan.

But of course, western-orientated games will always sell best in the west, obviously. Yes, there's a lot, but you can always spin things. The only real success-stories there are GTA, Need for Speed and Sony's own games. But GTA and NfS are ports anyway, so they wouldn't be huge system-sellers.

At the end of the day, it's a handheld, they get good traction in Japan. They need that security. And the Vita doesn't seem to quite have it just yet. And if it's not quick, I.E before MH4, they won't even get a chance.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I was  challenging this, trying to point out that Jap devs are not as paramount to WW sales and success as you were describing:

"The situation in Japan for the Vita is probably grimmest though, as it's been out for longest and was the area the PSP excelled. And major devs, like Capcom, Squeenix, Namco etc. base most of their games of Japanese sales, as that's where they'll make the money. Havig poor JP sales will stop 3rd party devs, dropping sales WW as a consequence, in a never-ending loop."

I was just making a minor correction, small stuff

EBWOP: That concept definitely holds true for home consoles, including Sony's (See MGS4 for example). But for some reason Sony's PSP in the west mostly yields SW sales of western offerings in general. That's just what I get from the numbers, I'll be glad to be proven wrong

Sony really needs to get some Monster Hunter for the Vita to pick up, it seems it's the only way.

^I think he confused Japan with the west in that post. But to be honest, the bulk of SW support on the PSP in the land of the rising sun is thanks to 3rd party developers, so I'm not sure you should be so cocky.

because the gap between the DS and PSP really stopped games from releasing...especially in Japan

^I'm not sure I see what you're trying to say. Can you elaborate?

^It just makes it funner for everyone, and makes it much easier to recognize you. Other wise you, stealth20k, Jweincomm and small44 all look the same to me: like a band of noobs. *trollface*

I see your arguement but i go off names not avatar's anyway. Each to their own i suppose!

did I start this>..............?
