wtf wants photo realistic games? i sure as hell dont.

the simulation community, realistic fps community lots of games benifit for photo realistic graphics

would you rather the next F1 game look like real life or mario kart?

i prefer rpgs so phantasy > realism

but i'll agree that photorealism in games would be bad ass

on the fps side, not sure if its a good idea. some stupid morron or some ass wipe press guy would find a way to go "its the realism in gameing that is causing good honest people to become killers and murderrers coz they can no longer blah blah balh". you know how it is, look for something to point the blame at instead of taking responsibility. lots sa dumb ass shits are good at that.

i would like to make a thread, the title is

HOW PHOTOREALISM KILLED VIDEOGAMES

Some games do look better with bit more cartoony looks though. Hope there is variety in the future.

Honestly a huge percentage of gamers, ure the minority. Obviously there's going to be people out there that don't care to much about it.

Well considering we are still a LOOOOOONG way off from photorealism hopefully a focus on gameplay is emphasized far sooner than when that becomes a reality.

Not to mention you can photo realistic graphics and what not and still not have a "realistic" game. Physics, amount of content on screen, and AI still have a long way to go as well before were truely in the uncanny valley.

A minimum of 20 years before we truely hit uncanny valley, if not more.

Minecraft didn't hit photorealism, yet its still rated above 95% of all the games that has better graphics.

Yay!!!

Focusing on graphics more than the actual gameplay.

Really? I liked Grand Prix 1. The look was enough, to get the memories of real racetracks. But the important point was, that everything was customizable and every error lead to the car flying off the track.

ok but gran prix 1 came out in the 90s, it looked like that becasue that was the best they could do, not becasue they wanted it to look like that
