Yo fellas,

i made a topic, like months ago, about this. 'twas because of my neighbour, the guy living one floor above me.

almost every night, this A-hole turns up the music so much that not only the bass rings in my ears like shit, i can also sing along..

Many people did recommend that i "just" call the cops, once it is evening/Nighttime, to make them talk some sense into him.

So yeah, time has passed, Cops were called often, and we discussed alot.

The headline is, he's moving out in 2 1/2 Months from now, but since we (the people living in this house) have been made aware of this, shit went worse than ever before. everytime he's at home, he really turns the shit up as much as possible (i guess), really, a discotheque is nothing against that., you can't hear your own talking when beeing in front of his door.

And this bugs - of course - not only me, in the flat above him is a mom with her baby, and while she doesnt hear it as loud as i do, her child can barely sleep at night...

when now calling the cops, we (she tends to call them too, nowadays) he really is dead-quiet as soon as they arrive. (maybe he's expecting them?), making "her" and me look... damn stupid.

Today, i went up again (its 18:59 right now), and while i tend to be a quiet coward, i really had no nerve left this time, telling him that he'll be in big trouble, if he didnt stop immediately. The thing i did expect but was shocked about nevertheless: he's damn aggressive., asking if i were to threaten him, and that i should come up on him if i were capable of doing so. I was thinking about my options in this moment, and barely 5 seconds after he said that, he showed me the finger and closed his door - i thought that i'd be the biggest idiot not to do something, so i shouted that i couldnt come up on him since he locked himself in safe ground (i think i sounded quite solid, still)- but the only thing that came from him (stayed inside) that i'd see what i have from offending him...*silence*..

so yeah, went back again, and it was quiet for like 30 minutes, and now everything starts all over again.

*Does not know what to do*.. i simply do not have the patience to just deal with it for the comming 70~ Days.. =/

Sound's like this guy is a right asshole. You could try to record the noise levels so when you call the Police you have some evidence of his unfair behaviour. Just a thought.

Buy £10,000 worth of paint, and for the next month paint your walls every day.. Then, in about a months time your house will be sound proof.... Simples!

The question is then, how can it be that he's expecting the police, do they have sirens on? (Unlikely) Can he see them approaching from outside the flat?

If the police have been called several times by multiple people already they should do something.

Blast an Airhorn on your ceiling. Just wait until you're sure he's sleeping, and let it blast!!!!

Uh oh. By confronting him, you've just gotten yourself involved in a "Hip Hop Beef". This could in in any number of ways. Rap battle, a dance off, maybe even death. I hope you're ready for this.

Record his behavior with your cell phone. Call the police. Tell them what he said and what you did. Remind them that you have called them time and time again and that you have a record of the number of times that you've called. If something happens between you two, they are liable because they have failed to act. You have at least one witness so, whether he's doing something or not when they get there, you are not lying. When they arrive, go to his door with the police. They can be the mediator of you guys' discussion or they can quit being so penisless and actually give this guy a citation. They've done nothing for so long that this guy doesn't even consider them a threat.

The police sound really incompetent. Incompetent to the point where I would consider kicking in that guys door and destroying shit when he's not around because "They don't have any evidence". Then, I'd tell him that that's what happens when you advertise to the world that you have such a high quality sound system. You tempt bad people to do bad things.

I had a good time reading your post, thanks. .. to confronting him beeing a bad idea: yeah, youre right. but mid-day, there is nothing else i could do, aside of doing nothing, sadly.

@beeing in front of his door together with the police: THAT is a good idea.. they always told me to go inside, leaving the "action" to them, but i think when i call them next time, i will insist on doing so, and instead following them upstairs. i hope it works.

@RedInker - Recording his behaviour: Doesnt work for some reason. the only record devices i have are my smartphone and my notebook, and they - for some reason - do not record anything at all. .. =/

thank you guys for actually taking your time and throwing in an answer, i really appreciate every kind of constructive idea, its quiet for now, i guess he went out or something, hopefully he wont return with his mates (after all, its weekend) .. they dont make things worse in terms of volume, but well.. it concerns me that they have those iron-crosses on their backs and completely shaved hair... not that i would be a target for racism since i am also german, but i really dont want to mess with "that" kind of guys on my own., especially not in the numbers he tends to invite to him.

lol why the fuck, if police was really there some times now, why the fuck don't they take his hi-fi equipment with? i believe they do it here in germany after few warnings, not really sure about it but i saw it in tv one time.

the doors here are quite heavy, and (i tried it with my own ) you cant open them with a credit card. .. otherwise i'd be tempted to cut some cables, lol! (i left my key inside once.. dude, it was a pain XD the guy from the keyservice tried to open the door for like 40 minutes with his equipent, i gave him a cigarette and a glas of coke afterwards, since he was pretty much down with his nerves. )

@Crissindahouse: they "might" take his equipment? Holy gods of Olymp.. this would be awesome.. maybe i should really call the cops every single night, even tho' he might act accordingly, turning all his stuff off when the lights jump on, and/or he sees a policecar outside. (i dont know HOW he does it, once i waited at the front door, so that the police didnt need to ring my bell, but as we went up... silence. -.- )
