I hate this time of year!
The hype is through the roof, and E3 is still MONTHS away....

Months away? E3 is just over 6 weeks away!

still way too far....

these levels of hype are unhealthy such a long time ahead.

I forsee at least one major hype-crash and major crisis of faith before June.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Oh, don't worry, I agree there's far FAR too much hype. But, it's not months away. Trust me, I should know, as my first exam is the friday before >.<

We'll all be disappointed. We always are...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Big 3rd party games.

Nintendo just bought up a LOT of advertising on Gametrailers. Seriously you guys are over-thinking this. Nintendo obviously understands now that in order for the core gamer press to 'like' them, they need to spend a bunch of money on advertising.

Tease.

Surprise people? Pretty damn good? Ohh yeah!
This has got to mean 3rd parties are onboard!

This is the Wii U: part console, part handheld, part tablet, part VR.

So yeah I think it will be damn good.

truer words..

..but in a lot of ways we have ourselves to blame.  for instance: me not being able to resist watching that leaked GoW trailer probably blew a good 25% of what i'll be excited for at E3.  damn you kitler *shakes fist*..

Blimey, if the people from Invisible Walls say it's good then it must be pretty stunning. I stopped paying attention to them ages ago because they always sound like anti-Nintendo fanboys.

I said it a while back and I'll say it again - there are going to be plenty of people pleasantly (and some unpleasantly lol) surprised by what we're going to see at E3 this year from both Nintendo themselves and third parties. Nintendo have the chance to beat their E3 2006 showing as the best E3 showing of all-time. Can't wait!!!

With AC3, Arkham City, Darksiders 2 already confirmed for launch, Mario and Pikmin hinted and the possibility of Bioshock, RE6, COD and GTA5 all being announced for it during E3, its not hard to see why it'll be be the best launch line up of all time.

The problem is 110m+ people already have a ps3/360 which means they will have access to these games, in some cases months in advance. Suddenly all that counts is nintendo's 1st party titles. Shane could be hinting at bigger things, but i think he's just talking about the 3rd party support.

I wouldn't doubt it ...

Third party publishers can (probably) release a significantly enhanced version of a HD console game for 10% to 25% of the cost of producing a new game; so I would expect a lot of new and recently released HD console games to be released on the Wii U with touch screen controls and enhanced visuals.

The success of the DS, Wii and 3DS will likely encourage third party publishers to devote some resources to Wii U games, especially if they can port them to the HD consoles or other next generation consoles if sales do not meet expectations.

On top of that, Nintendo seems to have "stopped" releasing games for the Wii for some time now and it is likely that they have been working on Wii U games for years; and Nintendo may have used their cash to enter into new second party publishing agreements with a handful of developers to fill holes in their line-up.

Essentially, if you have 12 (or more) quality enhanced third party releases, 4 to 8 quality exclusive third party titles, 2 to 4 quality second party games and 2 to 4 quality first party games in the first 6 months of a system's life it would (likely) be one of the best early line-ups ever.
