Forums - General - I think a CNET writer stole my idea and made a full article on it.

On the morning of February 22 I wrote this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=140359

It was my overall idea on why Vita should just be a smartphone with all the same gaming features as well as full Android phone capabilities.

I just found the following article on CNET. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57382777-1/the-next-playstation-vita-can-and-should-be-a-phone/

It was also posted in the afternoon of February 22. :/

While it shares my similar overall hypothesis and many of the same ideas, its obviously further explained and better written. After all I wrote mine in a matter of a few mins while sitting at my desk at work. Had I been more formal it would have been far better laid out and articulated. But, that's just not how I role on VGC.

His is 11:46AM PST, so in my region in February that would be 12:26PM MST. I am fairly certain I wrote it earlier that morning before or immediately during my lunch. Lunch is usually started at 11AM MST. Can a VGC mod/db dude look at what time my thread was originally created to see who was first?

Do you think I was sorta copied? Should I demand restitution? lol jk.

I can't tell exactly when your thread was posted, but an article like that, in my experience from gamrFeed/Review needs brainstorming, drafting and editing so he almost certainly had the idea before you posted.

The hubris is strong in this one.

Great minds think alike? err..., unless you and Scott Stein are one and the same

Did you make a thread about this very same topic before? A website stealing your idea?

This isn't the first thread we've had on this issue.

Really? Who else had this issue?

That's definitely a possibility, but a peice like this doesn't necesarily need brainstorming. It could simply be something he wrote and got approved in a short time frame. Its not like its a massive story and its just critical enough to generate hits.

I think its just too odd for nearly the same idea to be posted on the exact same day, just a few hours later.

Well I remember a thread in the same vein about maybe 6 months to a year ago.

I thought you had made it after I read the OP, but obviously not.

No, you aren't the first person to have suggested this.  I know I said as much back before the Xperia Play was released and I'm sure others have said it as well.

Wow such an amazing revolutionary idea you got there ,using a handheld as a phone why hasn't anyone thought about that before ? You are a genius and that guy and a billion others who play games on their phones are just trying to rip your original fantastic idea off, you are truley the mastermind the world deserves , but doesn't need right now.
