First fail of E3 goes to Sony by doing their show on 2 / 3 am for Europe.

Yup, Sony is done for sure this time.

How are they done based on their timing? They are showing E3 where it will mainly be watched. Wake up in the morning and watch the recap or record it with DVR. If the show was going on in Europe it wouldn't be so late at night, think abuot that. They should only be done based on their offerings.

It's simple really. Holding their event at 2am in Europe time means that nobody is going to be able to stay up late enough. It's a well known fact that there is a drought in Europe, and that means nobody is going to be able to brew coffee or tea to help them stay up.

This takes away from the average fan's ability to participate in the fun, thereby lowering overall feeling of inclusion, and maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow, it will result in a widespread feeling of disassociation with Sony and subsequent selling of all ps3s and vitas.

Mark my words, this is the first megaton of E3 2012.

The show isn't meant for Europe. Its an American convention that got so big that it is shown worldwide. E3 is the only Megaton of 2012. If nothing happens at E3 at this stage in the game in most cases you wont find bigger news at any other convention. It's not a fail on Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft for being in the morning. DVR it and when you wake up, it will be there or get the feed on Gametrailers, IGN or Gamespot.

Sony tends to announce a lot of things outside of E3 though, like at Gamescom

Didn't notice. Thanks if its true though. This whole 4.19.2012 thing is exciting. I just want to see GOW 4 and the suspense can be over. Sony is good at giving their fans heart attacks over the obvious (LOL).

I was just kidding by the way. Having the conference at any time has about 0 effect on anything. People are still going to watch are broadcast no matter where they are.

Indeed. And they announced The Last of Us, Uncharted 2/3 at the VGAs too, so it's not everything about E3!

Yeah, but thats the VGA's thats the second home of megatons also in America. That comes on at like three in the morning in Europe right?

That report card is one enormous facepalm..

I know right. Do not remind me of the terrible MS conference

No denying that Microsoft conference was a let down, but grading Sony B+ and Nintendo C+ just wreaks of fanboyism.

This i agree with 100%.

I second... erh... third..? fourth?! that...

I also agree with the previous statement...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I thought the Sony and Microsoft conferences were just as good as eachother, and were better than Nintendo's. Actually, I'm not even sure, I don't remember the Nintendo conference.

Nintendo should go 1st so they can shut down E3 as soon as they're done, no need for the other press conferences.

sorry but some of us have been enjoying HD consoles for up to 6 years now....

OT: can't wait to get more info on Dust 514, Last of Us, and games for Vita

Microsoft conferences have never been equal to Sony in consistency. Their conferences are heavily third party multiplats with either a staggeringly low amount of exclusives or too many casual games.  Sony makes too many exclusives so they never break their level of expectation. Nintendo needs to balance their games between the titles for people who have grown up with them (25+ years) or the people and the newcomers. When it comes to expecting internal games Microsoft is the one to expect to be the weakest. Microsoft's strongest E3 was in 2008 when they took Tekken and Final Fantasy  exclusivity from Sony. They want Sonys fanbase, but can they make enough games to support them? Thats the question. It's not good to have three crappy E3's in a row.

I'm very interested in multiplatform games though, I like how there were many playable demos shown at E3. Looking back, I did think SONY's conference was better, but it's far from their best. I still remember watching E3 for the first time in 2009, I thought SONY's conference was amazing.
