Well, specifications aren't really important, but if they are too low to make a marketable product, then there is a problem. I don't really think this will be the case; actually, this generation I think we might see a case where Microsoft is making their specifications too high to create a marketable product. Similar to what Sony has been doing over the past couple of generations; making a system so powerful that it can't be well priced, and losing tens of millions in unit sales as a result.

Nintendo stopped boasting about internal specs with the N64. Even though the GC was > PS2... Nintendo never formally put out its specs, nor has it done so with nearly any of the portable consoles.

However, that doesn't change the simple obvious fact that it will be many times more powerful than PS360 and based on everything presented so far, it should be pretty damn close to neXtBox and PS4... maybe even have a better CPU than PS4. (See my comparison thread)

Its not going to be a powerhouse, i doubt it will be even 2X PS3 in power. It will do a lot of things better though and games will look sharp.

In order to make a system that is less powerful than the X360 / PS3, Nintendo would have to order an AMD GPU that has already been discontinued... That is highly unlikely.

As you say, for Nintendo to make a system on par or less powerful than the 360/PS3, they would have to go to great lengths.
