The most useful stat booster is the Talisman, which increases Resistance by 2. The majority of units in Awakening have slower Resistance growth, so it's always nice to have a couple of Talismans on hand.

Support between people also raises if they fight adjacent to each other, that's how it worked in previous games. Marriages and children are features that already existed in Fire Emblem 4. The pair up mechanic isn't necessary and it has quite a few game-breaking implications. On a related note, characters helping out adjacent units is another mechanic that shouldn't be used again. You can't plan reliable blocks anymore, because it might just so happen that that partner kills off an enemy that you want to stay alive to block another enemy from attacking. The result is death by random chance. |
Yall crazy wanting Pair Up to be removed from future games.
I admit, it can be toned down, like removing the invincible dual guards (unless it is a skill) or reducing the frequency or even just giving enemies the chance to do it or whatever, but it makes battles better. This first game showed its wonders, the next game they should try to fine tone things if not master it
Although I can't see them reusing the whole second generation/playable children mechanic short of them remaking FE4... which actually would be pretty dope if they reused the Awakening engine.

A permanent stat booster in a game where you can attain an infinite amount of level ups. Not worth it. The only real problem in Nah's paralogue are the walls that open/close additional paths. Unlocking a door will cause all possible walls on the same horizontal line to collapse in the following enemy turn. Enemy skills are distributed randomly, in three attempts on two files I have seen the following amounts of enemies with counter: 1, 0, 2. Besides, shouldn't everything be a breeze for your overleveled beasts? |
That's why I said that it depends on how early in the game you do the mission, didn't I?.
In my map, I had 4 warriors with Counter. And no, I'm not using my overleveled characters during missions (with the exception of Chrom, because you can't not pick him). My "main" team consists of Henry, Say'ri, Anna, Pr. Marth, Serra, Florina, Marisa, Eirika, Titania, Mia, Karel, Matthew and the forced Chrom.

Yeah, I often have a couple Talismans spare, namely because I'm too scared of using them...same with Naga's Tear.
I agree with Talisman being a very useful stat booster. Unfortunately it's also pretty rare, I've only had 4 or 5 during the entire time I've played the game and at least 2 or 3 came from mission bosses and 1 from the renown award.

What were their support conversations about? Lucina and Inigo support convos were about Inigo trying out Falchion to see if he could pick up should Lucina ever die.

Oh, that's a bit...disappointing. It's just Cynthia's personality fitted so well...
