It's not incest, if the S support labels them as companions. Also, the children don't get children anyway. Thankfully.

They do if the Avatar bangs 'em!

Yes, this annoys me greatly. Results in additional branches. But that's not incest either.

The whole marriage thing would have been better, if every character only had around five options like Chrom. The way it is, there are quite a lot of pairings that don't make much sense at all. Although that still leaves the avatar who either should be able to marry everybody or nobody. Personally, I would go with nobody.

Eh, this way the Shipping Community (TM) gets to have their ideal pairings, and everyone (but the completionists) get to go home happy.  As it is, if everyone was limited to just a few options it'd be fairly easy to miss a character or two. As it is, Sumia only has four options herself, one of whom is Chrom, so if you marry off her bachelors it's quite easy to miss out on Cynthia entirely.

As if it would be that hard to create two groups of twelve which results in six possible partners for everyone. Basically, if you've formed five marriages of your choice in one group, the sixth pairing is the only option left. Still gives players many options without missing out on any child, but cuts down the possible combinations significantly. Considering that you can reclass units to get different skills, you really don't need that many options for marriage anyway.

Quite.

I marry peeps cause of support convo's not for min/max'ing.  You'd be suprised the responses I've gotten for having a physical Owain (daddy being Libra).  Supposely if I don't make him magical/dread fighter I'm a casual (looks back at my +10 years of playing Fire Emblem).

Tell those people that they are casuals for bothering with an SRPG that allows for infinite grinding.

Quite.  Plus half of them just play Normal anyhow......

All that grinding is only going to be needed for the last DLC that gets released.  And the rewards aren't worth it.

To spite them I put Limit Breaker ONLY on Olivia as a dancer.

Sounds like effort. Also, depending on Nintendo's whims the Smeags of the world might not be able to make pedophile jokes anymore, and we'd all be poorer for it.

On a serious note, I'm not too bothered by the current system myself, but there are several courtships that just feel abrupt, unlikely, and/or forced. I wouldn't mind if they'd changed things along the lines you proposed either, but this way does have the advantage of permitting you to use Supports more flexibly for their mechanical benefits than any other system would, and they could have chosen to take it even further.

For example, aside from the Avatar there's no cross-generation marriages (and often even supports), so by the late game, when I've switched over primarily to the children, Donnel can pair up with his kid, the Avatar, or no one. It's a similar situation with Olivia, although she at least gets to hang on to Chrom. Chrom himself can only support with his daughters or the Avatar, which means he's not quite able to keep up as much in the later Lunatic maps.

What I'm driving at is that I don't mind that much because the S-rank support provides some great stat boosts, and some of the pairs I want to use that with don't really make sense in a plot-setting. They can be jarring from that perspective, and frustrating if you want to complete all the Support conversations (especially for the Spotpass characters, whose S-conversations essentially cut off Morgan from the game), but I like the flexibility it provides in battles.

The mechanical benefits are definitely important. It's the support conversations themselves that are the problem, or rather completion of the log.

What's that about spotpass characters? More importantly, when are they going to be available? I've looked up the number of paralogues and some of them are apparently only unlocked via spotpass. Is that right? That would mean I have to wait a month or two until I can play them all?

There's a "fastest" way to 100% your support log somewhere on gamefaqs if you really want em all.

And yeah you'll have to wait until they're released which should be one every week or so..

Finally! My copy has arrived. I'll be starting tonight.

So...in Side Quest 2 (the one with Anna), is there any problem if Anna dies? Seems tricky to reach her in time...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

She won't have a child. And her A support are only avatar and Tiki (late game).

I don't think she's important if you don't get her.

There is no problem if she dies. You can't recruit her til paralogue 4 anyway
