Forums - Nintendo - 5 games that prove Wii U power doesn't matter

This is why graphics in consoles are irrelevant, consoles are meant to be fun , split screen , party-ish fun, not single player graphic intensive powerhouses (I am looking at you PS3), consoles should stop trying to be PCs or else they really have no point of owning one aside from exclusives of course. (I am looking at you Xbox 360 :-/)

I played Wind Waker at least five times or more. Even now it looks beautiful. Though I'm surprised you didn't put Okami on that list.

I lost my GCN disc of Wind Waker, so I'm really hoping when the Wii U comes about, they put GCN games on the Wii U app store. Wind Waker will be my first buy.

And those other games you put up there, I agree as well. Everything will be confirmed at E3 which I can't wait for :D

edit: I also forgot about The World Ends With You. Beautiful game :D

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

To be honest, no matter how powerfull the Wii U turns out to be, the gap between it and PS4/Next Xbox will still be much smaller than the current one between Wii and PS3/Xbox 360. The goal here for Nintendo will be to win back 3rd party support. So as long as it is powerfull enough for developers to be able to release their games simultaneously on all three platforms without making sacrifices to gameplay, than Wii U is going to be fine.

all current ninty games and franchises prove power doesn't matter. Technically, all ninty AI are repetitive characters with no real depth. they're more tedious then intelligent if you ask me.

there's very few games you get challenging AI from, i hope ninty can make a game with that level of challenge on Wiiu.

No console really needs a lot of power imo.

You know I never finished Wind Waker and I regret it very much as I can't seem to get the means to play it again at the moment.

There's a lot more about "power" than simply graphics.

There's... you know... everything else about the game as well.

I would trade in all the graphics power in the world for a new Zelda in Wind Waker's style.

I don't care much for graphics power myself, because excellent art design is what makes a game age well. Ten years from now when game systems are (probably) far more powerful, which current-gen game is going to look more appealing: Gears of War 3 or Rayman Origins? Certainly the one that doesn't need cutting edge graphics in order to look good.

Power is also not that important, more crucial will be the online experience.

I agree, online experience is more important than processing power.

So considering how successful the Wii was with such a poor CPU/GPU and lackluster online... why are we even having this conversation?

I guess because nobody's really showing off killer Wii U software at the moment, there's little else to talk about but gigaflops.
