If these rumors were not true, why would they not just denounce them?? I get that they cant follow every single one, but when asked straight up about it???

If you want to keep the details about something a secret (to unveil it when you want) you can't constantly denounce rumours; because (through the process of elimination) people will find out what you're doing.

They dont have to adress every rumor, I already said they didnt. A simple yes or no, would have sufficed. Otherwise why say anything at all??? They could have just kept their lips sealed until E3

You can't just choose to answer rumours when the outcome is favorable and say "no coment" when the actual answer would be unfavourable to you (wheter the rumour being true or false), that would be just too simple to read.

If you want to be able to keep any secret at all you have to either not comment on any rumour or act randomly. Since the second option is not very productive and would probably piss a lot of people off, I think they're on the right track.

Sure, you could choose a few rumours now and then to coment, but you couldn't make a rule out of that, so you can't criticize a particular instance of them not doing that.

I disagree, I think they were just better off not saying anything. Now the haters have could say that they didnt deny the rumor and that is true Ninty didnt deny it.

Why not just go with what actual real devs have said?

Nintendo has already said the demos were on early devkits so that means they are still working on them and that they would get better results in the final consol otherwise they would not have said “this is on early devkits”

because im reading things from all kinds of devs. some say weaker, some say way powerful, some say a little better, some say the same. Its easy if you have a Ninty bias, you're gonna believe the positive ones, and ignore the negatives and vice versa if your anti-Ninty, but im in the middle so i dont know who to believe.

Another rumor to add to the fire! This time it's not graphics! It's about the Wii U Tablet itself! Apparently, it seems that the Wii U Tablet will have a Haptic Touchscreen, meaning that you can actually feel different textures such as grass or metal. I say it's a great idea for gaming, espcially puzzle games!
http://mynintendonews.com/2012/04/06/is-haptic-screen-touch-technology-nintendos-secret-weapon-for-wii-u-e3-booth-suggests-so/

If you want a better idea on what it can do, here's a video explaining the technology.

It’s easy to figure it out man! those that say it is weak still have the old devkits or just don’t know how to use it yet as Nintendo will send the newest versions of the kits to the biggest devs first. You mean to say that the devs that are saying it is much more powerful are lying?

Wow, I love how the Wii U has been confirmed to have a Power 7 CPU and a fancy Radeon in it.... even though no specs have been released and no specs have been talked about.

Nintendo has confirmed nothing, but IBM has, confirming that WiiU's CPU is at least based on a POWER7:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/07/ibm-puts-watsons-brains-in-nintendo-wii-u/

The GPU has also been confirmed to be a highly customized Radeon R700, with many reports saying RV770 specifically:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/14/wii-u-has-last-gen-radeon-inside-still-more-powerful-than-ps3-a/

More tech specs:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_u

http://www.ign.com/wikis/wii-u/Wii_U_Tech_Specs

Specs from the companies who provide the parts have pretty much been "ballpark" confirmed, which is why the video earlier in this thread chose to use the lowest end processors/capabilities based on what we know so far for WiiU in the comparison to the current HD consoles... and its performance was still well above the PS360.

None of those links officially say anything.  The GPU rumblings are still hearsay and IBM has said they're using the Watson's cpu, which is indeed the Power 7s.  But then again Intel said they were putting Pentiums in the original Xbox and we know how that all ended up.  Those were just the first two and if it they weren't from endgadget I would have dismissed them right away.  What I will dismiss is Wikipedia and IGN.

they are saying Games are more important to them then Graphics which should be something they believe. If they deny this then it kinda gives it away if its more or Even with Current Gen Consoles. They want to surprise everyone at E3 and to be honest why would they wait until E3 to tell us the Wii U is on Par?

It has long been their corporate policy to not confirm nor deny any rumor.    They will never give you a yay or nay ona  rumor.  They just don't.  It's corporate policy.

As for why reply to rumors at all, well, they were probably inundated by thousands of journalists from across the world.  When that happens, you release a statement.

The information from IBM suggests it can only come from their Power 7 or Power A2 CPU's.  There are no other alternatives.

From information from AMD, we already know for absolute certain that it will come from the R700 series.   The HD 7770 would make the most sense as it is the most efficient per watt of the series.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

To remain unpredictable towards its competitors. I mean look at Kinect and move "out of nowhere."

We knew the Move was coming it was just a matter of when. Seeing the Wii Success MS was going to come out with some sort of Motion Control Device. But it still wouldnt make any sense. MS and Sony are going to make consoles more powerful then the PS3/360 if Nintendo were to wait to tell us that its just on Par then they would make a fool out of themselves and they know that.
