Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Don't deny Poor Wii U Spec

Looks like Wagram has missed out on some of the best games released during this generation imo.

There are a few multiplatform games that have been a better experience on the Wii for my money - Guitar Hero iterations (having the guitar rumble during Star Power and having the sound effects of bum notes coming from the guitar makes it so), Tiger Woods Wii, Pro Evo Wii, Resident Evil 4 and Godfather Blackhand Edition have all been better experiences on the Wii platform despite the lack of eye candy.

And it has some of the best exclusives this gen too - Dead Space Extraction, House of The Dead Overkill (although to be fair they are both now available for PS3 owners), Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, Zack & Wiki's Quest For Barbaros' Treasure, all of the Trauma Center games, Super Mario Galaxies 1 & 2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Cursed Mountain, Red Steel 2, Rayman Raving Rabbids 1, Muramasa Demon Blade, de Blob, Manhunt 2 (only the Uncut version if you know how!), Madworld and Fatal Frame IV are every bit as good as anything you'd find on the PS3 and 360...and I own all 3 consoles this gen.

If you've just limited yourself to playing Zelda and Xenoblade then you've really missed out on some quality gaming, both first and third party.

Wii U has a ways to go to prove itself to me. Not because it "may or may not" be underpowered, but because Nintendo has continued to offer me nothing for this entire generation. Zelda, and Xenoblade. Hooray :D

Its a good thing that Nintendo does not direct all of its efforts to just "you". Because there a millions of gamers out there that are happy with what Nintendo offers. Oh well one less sale because of "you". I think Nintendo will do just fine without your sale.

They don't need to. From a business perspective they're clearly doing things right. I personally just don't find a lot of joy in some of the Nintendo franchises.

lol xenostar keep the wii u news positive or you'll get lynched

They never said that it would be less powerful than the X360 or PS3. All they're doing is releasing some information, which this information confirms that there is indeed going to be a console called the Wii U coming out, nothing more nothing less.

Its what he believes is true rather than the actual news that is making people “nerf” him

Edit: lol where did “nerf” come from? I mean “lynched”

I see after quoting you that others have gotten to you already. Nothing else that you liked or wanted to play

@ o_O.Q

Indeed.

There are some games on the Wii I have enjoyed. Arc Rise Fantasia is excellent. Really enjoyed the difficulty of that game, but what I meant mainly was hte fact that I own probably 7 Wii games, and by comparison I own about 50 PS3 games. There just isn't as much on the system that appeals to me. Luckily The Last Story is coming over so i'll be able to grab that.

If I were Nintendo I wouldn't have replied any differently. Better to have Microsoft and Sony ill prepared for E3 concerning next gen.

Wow, I love how the Wii U has been confirmed to have a Power 7 CPU and a fancy Radeon in it.... even though no specs have been released and no specs have been talked about. But let's say rumours are true for a second, the worst that has been said is that the CPU isn't gonna cut it. Why isn't it going to cut it? My guess is that a lot of processes have to be wasted to take game data, compress it, and them stream it out. But even then that doesn't sound right since the PS3 does it just fine (Though to be fair, Cell was pretty much designed to handle compression technologies), though a Power 7 card should be able to handle it fine. Unless, Nintendo decided to start scaling back the hardware for a lower price point, it should be fine. Though I think they might have scaled back; it costs 20-30 dollars to make for the controller, that's 20-30 dollars less they can throw into the CPU or GPU. For comparison purposes Cell cost Sony 89 dollars for each PS3 sold at launch and that was a high end processor to make at the time.

I really find these WiiU rumors misleading and conflicting. It's best not to bother with them until we get more confirmation from Nintendo.
