Next, they'll be porting it to Wii U, and Vita and 3DS, and iPhone, and... I kid, I kid. Still, though, I just wish they would get on with Witcher 3 already.

As long as they never dumb them down, porting their games to as many platforms as they can could help them a lot to stay profitable and high quality at the same time and so be able to keep on giving us other excellent games in the future, and make happy more gamers in the process.

The Witcher 2 is already higher quality than most AAA RPGs and made $5.5 million in profit, more gamers appreciating their work would be nice tho, but not worth delaying their future games by 6 months per platform so I would hope they fix that if they are planning on releasing on more platforms.

True, but most probably, if the rumour is true, it could also be a sign that the evolution, refinement, optimisation of PS3 dev tools made the task easier than in the past. And as they actually want to develop for more platforms in the future, there are two other possibilities than diverting the main dev team from new games development: they could hire an external team or they could hire new programmers into their company with the prospect of making good use of them also for future projects. Anyway, more platforms could actually mean a longer development time, but once the games go multiplat, unless the PC version is released immediately as soon as it's ready instead of simultaneously with ports, even one additional platform would mean a delay. What's for sure, given their record, they'll possibly sacrifice time, but not quality.
And yes, I know, it's easy for me to talk, having a huge backlog (and having also to be strong, resist the temptation and play Gothic 2 and 3 before The Witcher 1 Platinum Edition I just bought, to avoid possible disappointment from the others if I play the best first) I can wait, while I guess that you and all the others that already played TW1 and TW2 too can't really wait!
