Forums - Nintendo - Kid Icarus Uprising sales: 240k first week, good or bad ?

I knew this game would sell well! I knew it!

Neither good nor bad.

Japan sales are good. America and Europe... not so much. Still, I bet Uprising will reach over 1 million in L.T. sales... possibly by year's end if the holiday season has enough of an impact.

3DS Friend Code: 0645 - 5827 - 5788
WayForward Kickstarter is best kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1236620800/shantae-half-genie-hero

i was surprised of the numbers in JP and Eu, maybe expecting a bit more in Us. but I am sure that this game will have legs to reach 1-2 mil.

it is a very good game and as long as teh 3ds will be keep selling, people will still talking and buying this game.

Not bad for a Newish IP as well.

if will sell more that resident evil which is another great game i think they should think to a Wii-u sequel.

I said sequel but I have not finished uprising yet so not sure why I said a sequel and not a pre-quel or a complete new story anyway thay should invent something out .....

Switch!!!

Pretty surprised at the overall sales. I expected this game to open to about 100k WW, with a possible 750k lifetime, but it seems that I underestimated the power of Pit in Japan. Nostalgia must run deep there.

Better than I expected which makes 500k lifetime easily attainable. Should end up between 600-750k. Certainly not good, but disaster avoided.

This should have been a Wii game. The genius who decided to put it on the 3DS needs to be slapped.

That's what I thought once I played this game. The controls would make so much more sense on the Wii. Nintendo probably forced them to switch development to the 3DS.

I doubt it is nostalgia alone. I suspect it is more media blitz and the redesigns of the characters that have people more intrigued.

The stellar reviews and build up from Nintendo probably didn't hurt either.

For what it's worth I bought this game on it's launch at Best Buy and they were pretty well stocked. Maybe had sold 1 copy when I had bought mine.

When I checked back there earlier in the week it was completely sold out to my surprise. Maybe word of mouth is spreading with kids or this is just an isolated incident.

Not bad imo
