Forums - Nintendo Discussion - “Wii U Is Pretty Powerful… Which Means You Can Do A Lot More [than current consoles]” -Vigil

The interview with a Director at Vigil Games, Han Randhawa, was done by Zoomingames in Amsterdam recently (video below). His answers provide clues not only about Death’s role in Darksiders 2, but about the performance of the Wii U hardware, which he claims is “pretty powerful” and “has more resources…which means you can do a lot more” compared to the currently available consoles. What is still not clear from Mr. Randhawa’s comments is how much the Darksiders 2 Wii U team will take advantage of that additional power and resources of the Wii U console to the extent of making a noticeable difference of how the game will look on the TV compared to the other consoles.

Well of course the Wii U will be able to do more than current gen consoles. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to next gen.

Wait...who was the or which was the company that said the Wii U was about on par with current HD systems? I thought it was this developer?

It was. This developer is trolling us.

Love and tolerate.

"Wii U is pretty powerful"

I never believed the Wii U was only on par with 360/PS3, but that´s still a vague statement.

Anyway, is Darksiders 2 becoming the posterchild for the Wii U or something?

Well not surprised it is, "Next gen" is it not?

At this point nobody will know the Wii U's true power until somebody gets heir hands on a thrown away system, tears it open, and puts the chips under a microscope. The rumors are contradicting themselves. I say screw them all until we hear something from Nintendo, or a more concrete source (anybody besides Vigil).

How about this guy? He's working on the new Aliens game.

My money is on a conclusive specifications leak in August. The hardware will be completely finalized by then, and somebody will be able to blow the whistle, though as with the Wii, the numbers will never be officially corroborated.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

it depends on how its being approached one can say that the PS3 can do alot more than the other two but the majority of the SW being released on it are not the quality of the other platforms

are third party devs going to port PS360 games with a few enhancements like AA and resolution or are they going to do a grown up build. how much time will they spend developing multiplats when there are two other established userbases? once it does get a establish userbase will devs still use it as there main platform or will the new HW from Sony and MS create more freedom to persuade them to move away from it

Well with so many contradictory rumors and declarations I will wait until E3 to finally have an opinion about Wii U's power.
