Time for me to introduce the Reto Gaming thread. All old gaming consoles/games/peripherals can be discussed here. Post what your first gaming consoles was, or what the first game you ever played, and what your favorite gaming console/handheld is, what old game do you love coming back to. Discuss any of your retro gaming post here :)

The very first console I played on was the NES and it was duck hunt. I played many other games like teenage mutant ninja turtles and mario of course but that's the first game I ever rememeber playing, duck hunt. I was also very addicted to a certain Kirby game on the Gameboy, played it for hours. BTW I never ever owned any of these consdoles/games I have A LOT of relatives (almost 50 aunt and uncles) so a lot of first cousins I visited as a child and many of them had gaming consoles. I also had friends with Sega consoles and N64's, Gamecubes, thanks to my friends and relatives I pretty much played every console. Also when I was young even one of my uncles had a SNES that I played metroid non stop, I thought he was so cool.

Anyway my first conosle was the SNES, loved every minute of it. Then Gameboy Color, the one and only game we got for it was Pokemon Red lol that's all anyone played on it.

Favorite console: Nintendo 64

I still thoroughly enjoy coming back for some Mario Kart 64, Banjo-Tooie, Goldeneye, Mario Tennis, Mario Party 3 and Pokémon Stadium multiplayer action!


Hmm... Favorite handheld must be the DS so far, even though I started off with Tetris, Super Mario Bros and eventually Pokémon Blue for the Game Boy Pocket.

My first console was a commodore 64 found it in the for sale section of the newspaper, bought it off a 12 year old boy , there where some others advertised at the same time but this one stood out for two reasons it had a lot more games and most where boxed not copied and it had a lot of accessories , most importantly the top of the range for the time action replay cartridge . I had lots of fun with it and I would love a dollar for every time I heard "your mum called and said you should have been home hours ago" in relation to my friends.
favourite game M.U.L.E a great multiplayer strategy game .

Contribution: First videogame device was a Game Boy Pocket. Played the hell out of Kirby's Dreamland. So much fun. Then got an N64 and played OoT and a Game Boy Color with Pokemon Gold. In 2002, I moved to PC gaming with StarCraft and Doom. GameCube for Christmas in 2003, got into console gaming again in a big way.

Wii in 2006, was on the hype train for about 2 years then StarCraft II was announced. Went back to PC gaming.

First console: nes
best console: Snes, mario kart, super mario world, street fighter, DKC, fzero, a link to the past, contra, star fox, FFIV, killer instinct, super metroid, top gear, yoshi island, supermario rpg the legend of the seven stars, dairus twin... an amazing console...
best handheld: Difficult to tell, ds or gba...

I actually have some very nice memories about the old gameboy. I was 13 went I first put my hands on an old gameboy with pokemon red on, and man, I was soooo fascinated with it, that I was begging my dad everyday to buy me one. My dad is an old gamer so he kind of understood what I was feeling, but he was not really sure about it cause we were four children and he didnt have enough money to buy more than one (GBs were really expensive here back then). A friend of mine got one I dunno how as of today's date, thing is I traded my bike for his GB and pokemon red... The day after my dad discovered my new acquisition after looking for my "missing bike"... He got my bike back and I had to return the GB with tears coming out and everything ;_;
I did a piggybank that year with my brother (moms advice) and a couple of months later we got an used GB with pokemon red... To make it short I didnt buy any other game for the GB, just the same pokemons all over again, but I loved every minute of it.

I own all the usual retro suspects from Ninty and Sega, can't say enough about 'em that hasn't already been said.

What I'd really like to do is get in on some of the less popular retro systems, mainly the ones from the early 32-bit era, because I was always so intrigued by them. Some of the games looked amazing for the time in screenshots in old gaming mags... of course now I know all about that little trickery known as FMV, but I'd still like to experience these consoles like the 3DO and Jaguar for myself.

I really need to get my hands on a TG-16 too one of these days.. my cousins had one for a couple of years before they eventually sold it and got an SNES. I have fond memories of playing games like Keith Courage and Splatterhouse every time I went to visit them.

First system owned was Coleco Vision! Ya I'm old =(

First game I remember playing is Time Pilot, but I also remember playing Venture, Mouse Trap, and some game with tanks in it shortly after.

Favourite console of all time is N64. Sooo many classics. MK 64, Mario 64, Golden Eye, OoT, Turok, all of the THQ wrestling games, etc.

First game I ever actually became addicted to was Shining Force for Sega Genesis. Easily spent over 500 hours on it. Beat it at least 12 times. Probably closer to 20.
