Anyone remember this? I poored so many hours into this game next to Jet Set Willy 2

Now I can't get the music out of my head again.

Hyper rally is another one I played to death, literally. The tape wore out so much it took 3 or more long tries to load in the end.

King's Valley was another favorite. I sometimes miss pixel perfect platforming, it's all so 'floaty' nowadays.

And you know the best upgrade for me was not a new console but a color tv. For years I had played all these MSX games on a b&w monitor with no sound.

I found that link too but thought that can't be it... $100 dollars? I have no clue what's going on from watching that video. Surely this must be worse then E.T.

Apparently it came from an arcade cabinet in 1976.

Yep, all games for the 2600 were $100 australian, though given the 'oldness' & basicness of this game, I'm guessing it must have been one of the launch titles, haha

It was terrible, absolutely unfathomable how to play (because the controller actually didnt seem to make any differnce to the game, push the buttons, nothing changes, move the stick, nothing changes I was a well educated little kid & I was totally stumped). By comparison games like Joust & Adventure were amazing

I just have to ask, did anyone ever play 'stunt' in the atari 2600, if someone could tell me how to play/what you were supposed to do in that game i'd be stoked, in all these years i never figured that one out (though to be fair I havent played it since I was a young girl). I recall the cartridge cost my dad $100 (Australian) & there was so little to the game it was just crazy. I think you were supposed to jump something in a car, but I just crashed out every time, none of the controls even seemed to do anything. Not the best early ad for video games, thank god for the rise of more obviously playable games huh (the first I really liked were golden axe (amiga 500) & Final Fantasy 6 (computer rip)).

If anyone does have an answer i'd be most interested to hear it

Do you mean this game?

I played that game a lot. You have to stay on the track with the cursor keys and boost to get over jumps. Though not boost too much since you only get a limited amount.

Now that brings back memories. I played the hell out of this game. Stunt car was the name. Finished all the races and had the special car at the end.

I begun playing on an Atari 520 ST at the age of 5. Never stopped since. I'm 31 ^^

Favourite console : SNES FTW!!! Rock N Roll Racing, StarWing, MarioKart, Zelda III, SF2.. and FZero. A lot of games of nowdays are rehearseal of those gems.

But real retro gaming imho is Atari/Amiga's time, at the very dawn of the democratisation of computer.

Rick Dangerous, Midwinter, Barbarian, IK+, Silent Service, Xenon II, F29... I played the hell out of my ol' Atari.

Humm... NES was the first console I played, but I really started gaming with the SNES...

anyway, since its also kind of retro... anybody any recommendations for PS1 JRPGs? But a little more in depth and don't just throw Final Fantasy to my head ;P You should tell me some games I have missed not some games that should be owned by everyone who loves JRPGs ^^

What I also want to ask, when was the last time anybody of you used a original SNES controller... I think it must've been ages since the last time I touched one, I have only a crapy copy of the SNES controller at home T.T
