That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea.

???

what idea? Nintendo has never made a new game genre anything like "Play, Create, Share" for you to say that..

This is the one part where I think LBP Kart is unique. The rest is a rip off.

basically you just low-key tried to say that Sony copied Nintendo with their "Play,Create,Share" genre -_-

Words in my mouth, I was commenting on the overall structure of the game. Laso's, Kart size and physics, battle mode, etc.

but what Nintendo "idea" are you talking about though?

Answered in other post

i'm curious..

I mean just look at the video, doesn't it look like Mario Kart 7?

uhh no, it looks like "Little Big Planet Karting"

Not to me

i mean maybe it does when you see characters riding on karts and racing. I mean that IS what you do in a KART RACING game lmao

Does Sony have to use an engine this similar to Mario Kart, with dash corners, laso's and even the kart size and physics?

and by this logic i can also say that it looks like chocobo racing, Bomberman Fantasy Race, Diddy Kong Racing, MegaMan Battle & Chase and every other kart game that has ever been created ;)

Never played half of those, so I wouldn't know. However don't you race Chocobo's in Chocobo Racing? Do all those games have boost turns and jump extendors? Diddy Kong was different from MK64 by having planes and hovercrafts, an adventure mode, and overall very different level and item design.

so what is the significance in trying to single everything else out and trying to focus on it "looking" like Mario Kart 7 specifically?

Already responded in other post.

Just with this and the upcoming Smash Brothers clone, it seems Sony is trying to expand their library by copying Nintendo

lol Sony make a Kart game and now they are trying to expand their library by copying Nintendo? LMAO

Sony had kart games on their consoles BEFORE LBPKarting was announced my good sir ;)

Yes, and you're point> Mario Kart is still the oldest.

and i honestly HOPE the Sony fighting game is like Smash bros . If Sony somehow manages to make a better game than smash bros then it will make Smash Bros a better game in the end because Nintendo will of ccourse try to outdue the Sony smah bros game with their smash bros release

Competition is great, I agree. With a Kart game, you likely won't see much of a quality change because of the demograph, but Smash Bros has a bigger hardcore base (by % I assume), so if the PS3 Smash compeditor is good, Nintendo will up their game.

Also while I'm not a fan of CTR (It's like Mario Kart/Diddy Kong Racing with shortcuts (which suck)

somebody PLEASE tell me that this guy did not just try to criticise CTR for having shortcuts LMFAO!!

...The worst maps in Mario Kart are the ones with major shortcuts. Why race on the track if everyone is going to try to use them? What makes Crash even worse is most shortcuts can be reached without the use of special items. Makes the map design feel poor if you ask me.

CTR is BETTER than both Mario Kart 64 AND Diddy Kong racing

Everyone has an opinion, but 30+ million people seem to think Mario Kart Wii is the best

Mario Kart 64 AND Diddy Kong racing both had shortcuts but of course you just want to single out CTR for some strange reason for it having shortcuts though LMAO

Worst Maps in MK64, and generally points of bad level design (rainbow road) or item requirements (Koopa Beach). Diddy Kong shortcuts were nowhere nearly as major as Crash, and depended on the vehicle you raced in.

so you REALLY shouldnt be a fan of them aswell going by that..

hmm would the game being made by Sony have something to do with it? ;)

I like many Sony games, however just the unique ones like Uncharted and InFamous.

is it safe to say that i think i have you figured out now or would i be jumping the gun?

and WHO THE HELL doesn't like shortcuts in a racing game anyways? lol

Who does? Really? seriously?

and less imaginative track designs (both physical and artistic)

i would argue that CTR's tracks are more imaginative artistically AND physically

the tracks are more well put together than the tracks in Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong racing

they also have more detail and look better aswell despite 64 having better graphics than ps1

;)

The track in the video was a temple and forest, it's texture lacking and balnd....however I will agree for the technical limitation CTR is pretty awesome, but MK64 was an early N64 game, and CTR came out near the end of PS1's life.

I think Sony should bring a more serious kart racer on the table instead of two....easy ones (I think Mario Kart has been too dumbed down lately too)

all they have to do is make this game like CTR and it will be a BEAST ass game

would be better then an MK clone. However I think DKR and old MK's are better. Mario Kart DS is probably the best Kart game ever, really amazing level design.

This is the one part where I think LBP Kart is unique. The rest is a rip off.

what does this have to do with what i just asked? i asked "what idea?"

you said--> "That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea." then i asked "what idea?"

and then you respond with --> "This is the one part where I think LBP Kart is unique. The rest is a rip off."

ok you tried to dodge the question on the sly so let me ask you again more clearly

WHAT NINTENDO IDEA DID SONY MAKE A UNIQUE TWIST OFF OF TO MAKE THE PLAY,CREATE,SHARE GENRE?

Words in my mouth, I was commenting on the overall structure of the game. Laso's, Kart size and physics, battle mode, etc

uh no you wern't Mr Micheal-5 ;) it is right there as clear as day

i said --> "the play, create, share genre says hello to this " and then you replied with --> "That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea."<-- yea you definitely tried to say that Sony copied Nintendo with their "Play,Create,Share" here

now you are backtracking =D

"Does Sony have to use an engine this similar to Mario Kart

oh so you dont want Sony to use a "similar" engine as the Mario Kart engine? well being that its a kart game i cant imagine how differnt an engine could be from another kart game

with dash corners

wtf is a "dash corner"? i played many kart games and i never heard of a "dash corner" before. do you mean the little manual speed boosts??

laso's

oh so you dont want Sony to have "laso's" in Little Big Planet Karting because they are in Mario Kart 7? wait but Laso's were already known for being in Little big Planet so what are you talking about?

and even the kart size

oh so you dont want Sony to use the same Kart "size" as the 1s in Mario Kart 7? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

ok if you want to be serious about it then i guess you should know that Mario is like damn near 10 times bigger than sackboy so if sackboy and Mario got in comfortable fitting Karts respectively, how the hell could they be the same size?

i think i hear some scratching at the bottom of a barrel ;)

and physics?"

oh so you dont want LBPK to have similar "physics"? hmm okay i'm going to need you to elaborate on exactly what you mean by this and i want to see some comparing please

However don't you race Chocobo's in Chocobo Racing?

yea, i was going to just say CTR but i just threw in something different instead just for the hell of it =P

Do all those games have boost turns and jump extendors?

yes they do my good sir

Diddy Kong was different from MK64 by having planes and hovercrafts, an adventure mode, and overall very different level and item design

Diddy Kong racing was also better than Mario Kart 64..

"Yes, and you're point> Mario Kart is still the oldest."

what does mario kart being the "oldest" have to do with what you said?

you said --> "Just with this and the upcoming Smash Brothers clone, it seems Sony is trying to expand their library by copying Nintendo"

and you were refering to the 2012 non released Little Big Planet Karting game when you said "this" so what the hell does Mario Kart being the "oldest" have to do with Sony making other Kart games before LBK?

you said that Sony is "copying" nintendo with this new 2012 LBK game and the smash bros clone..

ok, you lost me..

...The worst maps in Mario Kart are the ones with major shortcuts.

blame Nintendo instead of CTR for that, smart guy

Why race on the track if everyone is going to try to use them?

to win maybe? DERP

What makes Crash even worse is most shortcuts can be reached without the use of special items.

so you think that most of the shortcuts should be non reachable without the use of special items?

Makes the map design feel poor if you ask me.

when a shortcut makes a map worse(what you claimed for Mario Kart) i would say THAT makes the design feel poor if you ask me ;)

Everyone has an opinion, but 30+ million people seem to think Mario Kart Wii is the best

Mario Kart 64 sold 9.8 mill and Diddy Kong Racing sold 4.88 mill so i dont know what the hell MKWii has to do with MK64 and DKR

you lost me on this 1 aswell -_-

Diddy Kong shortcuts were nowhere nearly as major as Crash, and depended on the vehicle you raced in

and thats why CTR is better ;) it isnt just 1 straight boring path each time you race EVERY SINGLE TIME. CTR implemented shortcuts a hell of a lot better than DKR and MK64

unique and hidden shortcuts just adds that much more to the experience ;)

"Who does? Really? seriously?"

EVERYBODY!! this is the 1st time in my life i've EVER witnessed somebody actually trying to complain that shortcuts are bad in a kart racing game LMAO

The track in the video was a temple and forest, it's texture lacking and balnd....

you mean bland? lol they still loooked better than MK64 and DK64 though ;)

but MK64 was an early N64 game, and CTR came out near the end of PS1's life

yea that makes a difference because everybody knows that Nintendo sets limits to its hardware near the beginning of a generation (sarcasm)

Nintendo still had the more powerful hardware(ps1 was 32 bit while N64 was 64 bit) ps1 had the superior game on inferior hardware

there is no excuse

N64 was 2 years newer than ps1, sorry ;)

would be better then an MK clone.

you damn right it would! its already confirmed that it will be more like CTR

However I think DKR and old MK's are better

i highly disagree ;)

Mario Kart DS is probably the best Kart game ever, really amazing level design

yea its a good game but its missing stuff that Diddy Kong racing and CTR had so of course i also highly disagree with this aswell

Around the Network

This looks a lot better than modnation racers... now if it has shorter loading times... IT WILL BE TEH FUN RACER!!!

I don't really think that weapon modification will do any good... but the most important things are 4 player splitscreen and battle mode!

you damn right it would! its already confirmed that it will be more like CTR

However I think DKR and old MK's are better

i highly disagree ;)

Mario Kart DS is probably the best Kart game ever, really amazing level design

yea its a good game but its missing stuff that Diddy Kong racing and CTR had so of course i also highly disagree with this aswell

Can you guys arrange this one? It's hard to read and I don't which is which. Atleas put

Michael-5: blah blah

Endital : blah blah.

Or atleast tell whose  words are in the bold or not bold.

EDIT* I am not just talking about this post but the other ones aswell.

OT: I love LBP and it's cuteness.

LOL!!!

when i specifically reply i just bold/quote what the other person says then i reply under it like below for example

Or atleast tell whose  words are in the bold or not bold.    <--- this is a quote from you

i am the unbolded when i personally make a comment reply     <-- this is my reply to it

EDIT: the other guy replied within my last comment so i guess in his reply it looked like i said what he was actually saying since he was bolding his replies and putting them within my comment he was replying to

idk why people reply like that..

That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea.

I mean just look at the video, doesn't it look like Mario Kart 7? Sure there are no hand-gliders, but the drivers have laso's to make them swing bigger gaps, and both games have air tricks.

Just with this and the upcoming Smash Brothers clone, it seems Sony is trying to expand their library by copying Nintendo.

"seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea"

what idea specifically?

The whole Kart Racing physics look awefully similar to Mario Kart.

"the drivers have laso's to make them swing bigger gaps"

lasos came from the original lbp games...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRk4-nOg1-0

Yes, but they were included in a way most similar to Mario Kart 7. Sony easily could have made them weapons, or methods of cornering better/differently, but noo...they had to make it like MK7.

"both games have air tricks"

modnation had air tricks and it came out before mk7 and seeing as how this game builds upon modanation i'd expect the air tricks came from that as opposed to mk7

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEsmvWs7d3E&feature=related

But it came out after Mario Kart Wii, which is where Air Tricks comes from.

"the upcoming Smash Brothers clone"

the game hasn't been announced yet and furthermore if the rumours are true how does it automatically become a clone?

What other game uses IP's from their franchise in a Smash em up title? Capcom always faces someone else (Marvel or whatnot) and everything I hear about this game seems like a Smash Bros immitation. Only time will tell, but I felt it's worth noting this game

... i find it funny though how when mk7 was shown to have kart customisation no one said that they may have gotten the idea from modnation, but i guess thats how things work as nintendo is apparently the only company to come up with anything

Again, Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii beat Mod Nation Racers to this. However the way LBP is doing it, I would say is different enough to be unique. Just the gameplay....damnrip off from the video in the OP if you ask me.

Really....now Mario Kart's status is being questioned by Crash Team and LBP? What? What? What? Makes no sense, you people need to play more then just Sony games.

"Kart Racing physics look awefully similar to Mario Kart."

whose physics look similar to arcade racing games that came before it...

"but they were included in a way most similar to Mario Kart 7. Sony easily could have made them weapons, or methods of cornering better/differently, but noo...they had to make it like MK7."

no... they are implemented in the same way they were in lbp which came before mk7... which must mean that mk copied them from lbp right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRk4-nOg1-0

"But it came out after Mario Kart Wii, which is where Air Tricks comes from."

mk wii was the first racing game with air tricks? are you really saying that?

"What other game uses IP's from their franchise in a Smash em up title?"

all fighting games use the company's characters, for example, street fighter from capcom uses capcom characters such as ryu and chun li...

"everything I hear about this game seems like a Smash Bros immitation"

what have you heard? all i've heard is that its a fighting game with sony characters

"Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii beat Mod Nation Racers to this"

neither had kart customisation ( as far as i know ) but they allowed you to choose different karts for characters, which is obviously not the same thing...

"damnrip off from the video in the OP if you ask me"

so far you've said its a rip off because of the physics, lasos  and airtricks...

lasos were in lbp before mario kart, airtricks have been in racing games for years now and finally mario kart uses arcade style physics that resemble older arcade racing games...

if you ask me you don't have a point but its your opinion

"Mario Kart's status is being questioned by Crash Team and LBP? What? What? What? Makes no sense, you people need to play more then just Sony games."

personally i find this deeply offensive i have indeed played all of the mario karts besides mk7 and i do believe that modnation and ctr were more fun...

thats not because they were from sony but simply because they were more fun for me...

however if you disagree and mk is indeed better for you thats fucking awesome but it doesn't in anyway mean that i have to share your view

Around the Network

Being a kart racing fan I can say that this looks pretty good and could be really fun .

Look very good but shoudnt it be way better if Sony make a Kart Racer with all of their Sony Mascots like Nintendo did with Mario kart?

That will most likely be future DLC lol. Although it does sound like a very good idea. It could be called Playstation Racers!

That would be a pretty cool name for a racing game with Sony Mascots.  They should make it happen .

This is the one part where I think LBP Kart is unique. The rest is a rip off.

what does this have to do with what i just asked? i asked "what idea?" The "Play, Create, Share Concept."

you said--> "That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea." then i asked "what idea?"

and then you respond with --> "This is the one part where I think LBP Kart is unique. The rest is a rip off."

ok you tried to dodge the question on the sly so let me ask you again more clearly No

---

You->the "play, create, share" genre says hello to this lol

Me->That seems more like a unique twist off Nintendo's Idea.

You->what idea? Nintendo has never made a new game genre anything like "Play, Create, Share" for you to say that..

How did you miss what I said?

Was refering to how this feature makes LBP a unique Kart Racer, but the rest of the game is a rip off of Nintendo. Hence PCS is a unique twist for a Mario Kart Clone.

"Does Sony have to use an engine this similar to Mario Kart

oh so you dont want Sony to use a "similar" engine as the Mario Kart engine? well being that its a kart game i cant imagine how differnt an engine could be from another kart game

Diddy Kong Racing, Crash Team Racing, and Chocobo's Racing all play very very differently from Mario Kart, why is this almost identical?

with dash corners

wtf is a "dash corner"? i played many kart games and i never heard of a "dash corner" before. do you mean the little manual speed boosts?? Yes

laso's

oh so you dont want Sony to have "laso's" in Little Big Planet Karting because they are in Mario Kart 7? wait but Laso's were already known for being in Little big Planet so what are you talking about?

Do they have to be used to mimic the gameplay effects pf Mario Kart 7? Sony could have used them differently

and even the kart size

oh so you dont want Sony to use the same Kart "size" as the 1s in Mario Kart 7? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I want something to be different. The Kart designs are too similar to MK if you ask me, but I do like the customized ones.

ok if you want to be serious about it then i guess you should know that Mario is like damn near 10 times bigger than sackboy so if sackboy and Mario got in comfortable fitting Karts respectively, how the hell could they be the same size?

i think i hear some scratching at the bottom of a barrel ;) You are. I obviously meant with respect to the screen and dimensions of the kart.

and physics?"

oh so you dont want LBPK to have similar "physics"? hmm okay i'm going to need you to elaborate on exactly what you mean by this and i want to see some comparing please

Laso's, drift corners, similar acceleration and cornering performance, that whole video looked like Mario Kart with different characters.

However don't you race Chocobo's in Chocobo Racing?

yea, i was going to just say CTR but i just threw in something different instead just for the hell of it =P

Burned you here and you cut it out. However don't you race Chocobo's in Chocobo Racing? Do all those games have boost turns and jump extendors? Diddy Kong was different from MK64 by having planes and hovercrafts, an adventure mode, and overall very different level and item design.

These games are all very different from Mario Kart, far more different then LBP, you can't deny that. I just wish Sony followed their own formula.

Do all those games have boost turns and jump extendors?

yes they do my good sir

No they don't! Have you played Diddy Kong or Crash at all before? No bs replies, or I won't respond to you.

Diddy Kong was different from MK64 by having planes and hovercrafts, an adventure mode, and overall very different level and item design

Diddy Kong racing was also better than Mario Kart 64..

Not the point, the point is, it's not a rip off like LBP here.

"Yes, and you're point> Mario Kart is still the oldest."

what does mario kart being the "oldest" have to do with what you said?

People have been copying Mario Kart for a long time? Do I have to spell things out for you?

you said --> "Just with this and the upcoming Smash Brothers clone, it seems Sony is trying to expand their library by copying Nintendo"

and you were refering to the 2012 non released Little Big Planet Karting game when you said "this" so what the hell does Mario Kart being the "oldest" have to do with Sony making other Kart games before LBK?

No I didn't they are separate arguements separated by a quote from you.

you said that Sony is "copying" nintendo with this new 2012 LBK game and the smash bros clone..

ok, you lost me..How?

...The worst maps in Mario Kart are the ones with major shortcuts.

blame Nintendo instead of CTR for that, smart guy

CTR is worse then MK64 because it has shortcuts and the few shortcut maps in MK64 are the worst? Do you understand the point? Shortcuts suck!

Why race on the track if everyone is going to try to use them?
to win maybe? DERP

What makes Crash even worse is most shortcuts can be reached without the use of special items.
so you think that most of the shortcuts should be non reachable without the use of special items?

 Yup

Makes the map design feel poor if you ask me.
when a shortcut makes a map worse(what you claimed for Mario Kart) i would say THAT makes the design feel poor if you ask me ;)

Shortcuts make all maps worse, even that map in the OP would have been better without it.

You're easily lost then I see. Mario Kart Wii sold 30+ million meaning that 30+ million console owners now think Mario Kart is the best Kart racer. Yes MK64 only sold 9.8 million, but it just shows how the franchise is snowballing and how the more people play Mario Kart, the more hooked they get.

Diddy Kong shortcuts were nowhere nearly as major as Crash, and depended on the vehicle you raced in

and thats why CTR is better ;) Your opinion, but again I say shortcuts ruin the game - it isnt just 1 straight boring path each time you race EVERY SINGLE TIME Yes it is, it's just not the main path. CTR implemented shortcuts a hell of a lot better than DKR and MK64

unique and hidden shortcuts just adds that much more to the experience ;)
Not to me and apparently the very massive Mario Kart userbase agree's

"Who does? Really? seriously?"

EVERYBODY!! this is the 1st time in my life i've EVER witnessed somebody actually trying to complain that shortcuts are bad in a kart racing game LMAO

??????I don't believe you...it's like you're trying to tell me that an Apple is an Orange. It's just....no. Mario Kart is the best (as shown by it's complete dominance in sales and reputation), and Sony is trying to copy with LBP racing.

The track in the video was a temple and forest, it's texture lacking and balnd....

you mean bland? lol they still loooked better than MK64 and DK64 though ;) In your opinion

but MK64 was an early N64 game, and CTR came out near the end of PS1's life

yea that makes a difference because everybody knows that Nintendo sets limits to its hardware near the beginning of a generation (sarcasm)

Nintendo still had the more powerful hardware(ps1 was 32 bit while N64 was 64 bit) ps1 had the superior game on inferior hardware

there is no excuse

N64 was 2 years newer than ps1, sorry ;)

Doesn't matter, Nintendo was also inexperienced making 3D games when N64 was new. Just like every console, the best looking games come at the end of life because devs are aware of the technical limitation, know how to max out the system, and have dev kits which do it more easily.

would be better then an MK clone.

you damn right it would! its already confirmed that it will be more like CTR

However I think DKR and old MK's are better

i highly disagree ;) Fine, I highly disagree with you, it's opinion, now let's stop talking about CTR

Mario Kart DS is probably the best Kart game ever, really amazing level design

yea its a good game but its missing stuff that Diddy Kong racing and CTR had so of course i also highly disagree with this aswell

I just don't understand how you put CTR on the same level as Mario Kart and DKR... It's like comparing Rogue Warrior to Halo or Killzone.

"Kart Racing physics look awefully similar to Mario Kart."

whose physics look similar to arcade racing games that came before it...

Which ones exactly? Super Mario Kart was the first of it's kind, and I don't recal Mario Kart 64 looking like any arcade racing games before it.

"What other game uses IP's from their franchise in a Smash em up title?"

all fighting games use the company's characters, for example, street fighter from capcom uses capcom characters such as ryu and chun li...

??? This is not the same, Street Fighter is a fighting game from Capcom with their own characters. Smash Bros and the upcoming Sony Smash, are a fighting game using different characters from different IP's which the company owns. None of the characters originate from Smash Bros/Sony Smash. Hence I used the term, Smash em up.

"everything I hear about this game seems like a Smash Bros immitation"

what have you heard? all i've heard is that its a fighting game with sony characters

There are pre-alpha screens of Sweet Tooth, and Kratos is also in it. It's going to be a Smash Bros compeditor where characters from different Sony IP's fight.

"Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii beat Mod Nation Racers to this"

neither had kart customisation ( as far as i know They did, both of them) but they allowed you to choose different karts for characters, which is obviously not the same thing...

Wait, MNR had customizable Karts? I thought LBP was first to this. MNR had customizable tracks, that I know.

Answered everything before, laso's are being used nearly identically to MK7's hand gliders, and what arcade style racers before Super Mario Kart does the franchise resemble? Top Gear is very different from SMK and it released afterwards, and the older NES style racers were very very different with sprite appearing and almost never having to stop.

Sony games are always better then the larger compeditors on this website...I have never once heard anyone question Mario Kart being the best...except with maybe Diddy Kong Racing.

however if you disagree and mk is indeed better for you thats fucking awesome but it doesn't in anyway mean that i have to share your view Never said you do, all I started with was that this looked like a rip off on Mario Kart, then people started telling me MK is by far, not the best, and CTR was better (how that relates? I dunno, people are defensive of Sony IP's here by far too much).
