Forums - Sony - Making the best of Near

Has anybody else seen a decrease in people using NEAR in their areas? When I had my first edition bundle there were were about 55 people playing in my area. After the official launch there were about 90 and then 120 people in my area. Now I see about 35. I hope that only means people lost interest in NEAR and not the Vita itself.

I'd say it might have more to do with people going crazy with using it right after they got it. Now their time is probably divided up throughout their day instead of all the time because its a new toy and they are showing it off to people they know. That and maybe they didn't buy enough games to keep them occupied or they are waiting out for new titles. I saw 170 one day, and now I get anywhere from 15 to 60.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I used to love it, until it broke.

Also the once an hour limit is only for the same place.

Really? So different routers sure, what about for using 3g? Do I need to walk 1 km or something?

I have the 3g version (non activated) and before it stopped working on me it would allow me to update whenever I got to a new place. The real cool thing is it stores up to 10 locations in between updates. This means I could update, drive to McDonalds and play some, drive back and then update and it includes McDonalds location. This works using wifi hotspots even if they are password protected!

If near was constant and traceable, you would hear nothing but I've been robbed stories, smart move to do it by the hour.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Unecessary post.

The reason is its Broken, for alarge percentage and ever groiwing percentage it just says "An Error Has Occured" when trying to use it, worked fine for me the first 2 weeks, then nothing since, so the longer this goes on without sony fixing it the more people it will effect, and the less that will be able to post there data.

Presumably they will fix it at some point, but they could do irrepreable damage if its not soon, enough as i dont even try to sync with it anymore its been broken for that long.

I'm pretty sure people won't mug you with your Vita just because they know you have a Vita. No one's going to track you down just because they know you have a Vita.

Your just as likely to be Vita-jacked as you are being phone-jacked by walking down the steet.

I can see why people don't want their location to be traced though.
