Solution:

Pass a bill to legalize sodomizing underage kids, that should make the Vatican happy.

*Waits for shit storm to ensue*

someone had to say it :)

i mean, there a thousands of cases known and i can't imagine how many nobody knows about! just give pastors the chance to have an own family or this shit will never be stopped (or at least much less)

Doubtfull.  The occurence rate of child molestation in the catholic church in studies tends to range from "Not as bad as the general population" to "Same as general population".  No more.

The real reason people make a big deal about it is because the Catholic Church completely f'd up in handling it.  Instead of reporting priests to the proper authorities, they tried to cure them on their own.

Example.

Or didn't even try to cure it, just moved them on to another parish where they could abuse more kids. The way it was handled was actually properly awful, the Vatican was only concerned with keeping scandal away from the church and didn't give a flying fuck about the poor kids who were abused.

Exactly.  The church hierarchy should be criticised, but individual priests shouldn't be maligned. (outside those already proven guilty.)

It was okay when Pope Benedict was in the Hitler youth though.

That's no where as bad as gay marriage...

To be fair it probably depends on when he became a member of the hitler youth.  A lot of youth groups were forcefully assimilated, and eventually it becamse compulsatory to be in the hitler youth.

Essentially every "Aryan" in Germany around his age was in the hitler youth.

"Uh, no... The government represent the people, and the people want gays to be able to get married."

The people also chose Bush as President, they aren't the smartest lot. People are just being brainwashed to be PC now towards gays when they should be doing everything in their power to stop such a ridiculous thing.

Good god Mertle, you're so ignorant it's physically nauseating to think that the gift of life is wasted on one such as yourself. People who deny the rights of others should have every right stripped from them.

Historians have found no evidence that man at any point in history ever believed the world was flat. It's a myth.

Like heaven, hell and the rapture. All myths.

OT:

I don't quite get this religious outlook on life. If God created the world and everyone in it then it is his to deal with. If he doesn't like homosexuals then let him deal with them. It's not my concern. They do me no harm. Murderers, muggers and other criminals can.

An american right-wing religious "person" told me that god will destroy America in 5 years if it accepted homosexuality as christian and normal.

So if the US is history in five years I will become a believer.

They still exist sadly

He means a majority of people... and he's right.

Any one who lived on a coast would know instinctually that the world was not flat.

I am aware of this.  I guess that my point is that he was involved in something truly wicked in my opinion (whether he chose to be or not).  You would think that by him seeing this sort of stuff first hand that he wouldn't go after things that aren't evil at all like homosexuality.  Then again, the higher ups in the Catholic Church have different views on that sort of thing than I do.
