Forums - Gaming - Epic announces Infinity Blade: Dungeons, also new iPad has more memory than PS3, Xbox 360

Eurogamer

Epic has announced Infinity Blade: Dungeons.

Epic president Mike Capps took to the stage at Apple's San Francisco press conference this evening to unveil the sequel.

You're on a quest to craft the "ultimate weapon", Capps said.

He also said Apple's new, recently announced iPad, has more memory or screen resolution than either the Xbox 360 or the PS3.

During an impressive live demo, Capps said Dungeons is "only going to look like this and play like this on the new iPad".

"The Unreal engine is unleashing the power of the new iPad," he added.

the 360 only has 512mb of memory, but is isn't bogged down by background processes like PCs.
also
the resolution could be what ever it wants, it's still a real small screen.

360 and PS3 don't have built in screens, so I guess every tablet has a higher resolution.

Still one question.
Why no Kinect version of any Infinity Blade game ????

Yeah the iPad, iPhone, etc needs the memory since there are more than just the game running on it. Talking about that my Phone is running really slow. I should stop putting anything else on it.

do a complete shutdown of it... memory has nothing to do with storage.

idk how to turn off the iphone, but if it is like the ipod touch then hold the top button until it says "power off" and slide to turn it off, to turn it on hold the top button again.
this clears the RAM, a part of anything you do keeps running so do this every day or so.

Granted a full computer running tons of backend processes isn't quite the same as the memory usage of a 5-6 year old gaming console, but the point being made that these small multi-media devices are moving quick and from what was shown last week at MWC and today from Apple, 3DS and Vita will be 'last-gen' by the end of this year or early next. The only saving grace will be controls and first party IPs... something only Nintendo has both of. I still think my thread on Vita should be a smartphone/tablet device holds a lot of merit.

Battery Life. All that power on the new iPad means nothing if the battery life gets drained in 4-5 hours.
The price is more than double the Vita! Is it worth it? No.

The iPad will keep advancing each year, but the games won't. They are limited by touch controls.

What's the point in having a 2000 x 1500 (or whatever) resolution on a device that small?
Funny thing is that pretty soon iOS development will start getting too expensive for indies. People will demand "real" games not time-wasters and these types of games require time and money.

A device that is what, twice as expensive and is being released more than 7 years later has more memory than the X360?! I am shocked!

And at only 3 times the price
