Hmm, wasn't Halo: Reach running 1152x720?
Maybe I'm wrong, but from what I gather Halo 4 will be the first to do the full 1280x720.

LOL yeah I am.
They're all just picture of the character model. It's not hard to get that armour looking good.
Hell, even in the original Halo, the Master Chief character model looked brilliant. But the enviorments looked blocky, unnatural, and had a bad colour pallet.

Yeah, any Multiplat games look similar on the HD twins. Its just those graphics whores, fanboys and losers out there who doesnt have anything better to do. Thetre the one who makes it a HUUGEE deal.

Halo Reach is actually not native 720p. It's at 1152x720 like millenium said. |
I swear I heard or read somewhere that Bungie said Reach was native 720p, but I guess not. My mistake.
Sure, any upgrade in looks for Halo is a bonus but I don't see it being number one grafix king and I think any 360 fanboys who actually want that should tone down their expectations. When was the last time any of you were in a good multiplayer game and stopped to look around only to be disappointed? Uh oh, those textures are shit, lemme quite this game and play something pretty looking. Please, Halo is gameplay first and I hope it stays that way. Besides, why would 343 want to look the best if it means possibly following the sales trends of these other graphically superior games? I'm not 100 percent on this and I'm WAY too lazy to look into it but I can't think of any of these super graphics console games that are also way up there in sales. Gears maybe?
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Pretty sure O'Connor said it on Gaf after the trailer was released but I too could be mistaken.

Yes, it's pretty good. But, keep in mind that pre-release pics are always touched up and these here clearly are because of the complete lack of jaggies. |
Well for now Uncharted 3 has the crown, we won't know how Halo 4 will look until it releases.
However if it does look this good I fear the AI will be shit...Just look at what happened to Forza 4.
P.S. As soon as we see gameplay footage, then we can have a clue how good Halo 4 will look. In my experience I find that beta version and footage shown only months before release tend to be representative of the final product. However it has to be in game footage, not like the Gears of War 1 "Mad World" tv ad, or Killzone 2's Bullet ad.
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database

It's 48 horizontal pixels away, it's pretty damn close to 720p, but yea, I'm surprised so many games are sub 720p native.

Lol yeah. Forza was an eyecandy and it was fun. But AIs are stupid.

While Reach has nice graphics, I recently popped on for a couple of rounds of Halo3. I was immediately struck by the amazing lighting effects and overall smoothness. I'm no pixel counter and barely pay attention to such things, but yeah I think Halo3 is perhaps underrated in the graphics department.
It is definitely much more vibrant than current popular games such as BF3 or Reach, and would differentiate any new Halo game if they could reproduce it. Although my understanding is the amount of lighting passes is the reason that AA was poor in H3; there wasn't enough juice left for it but that seems to have been minimized in ODST.
