Sure, any upgrade in looks for Halo is a bonus but I don't see it being number one grafix king and I think any 360 fanboys who actually want that should tone down their expectations. When was the last time any of you were in a good multiplayer game and stopped to look around only to be disappointed? Uh oh, those textures are shit, lemme quite this game and play something pretty looking. Please, Halo is gameplay first and I hope it stays that way. Besides, why would 343 want to look the best if it means possibly following the sales trends of these other graphically superior games? I'm not 100 percent on this and I'm WAY too lazy to look into it but I can't think of any of these super graphics console games that are also way up there in sales. Gears maybe?

While Reach has nice graphics, I recently popped on for a couple of rounds of Halo3. I was immediately struck by the amazing lighting effects and overall smoothness. I'm no pixel counter and barely pay attention to such things, but yeah I think Halo3 is perhaps underrated in the graphics department.

It is definitely much more vibrant than current popular games such as BF3 or Reach, and would differentiate any new Halo game if they could reproduce it. Although my understanding is the amount of lighting passes is the reason that AA was poor in H3; there wasn't enough juice left for it but that seems to have been minimized in ODST.
