The PS Vita is in an asymmetrical gaming war, because most people will compare the price of the unit and the games to a smartphone and titles like Angry Birds, and the PS Vita will lose in that style of statistical comparisons. To come back to Sony’s gamble, that’s it in a nutshell. Over its lifetime, the PS Vita will shift less units than a smartphone. Will it sell enough?

I think it deserves to. It’s the only choice for gamers looking for console gaming while out and about. The build quality is fantastic, there’s a lot of technology that will be utilised well for many years. The launch titles cover a huge amount of ground and genres, with more to come.

As a multi-year investment in your own leisure time, I can’t think of a better way to spend your money.

Yeah, any sort of comparison between a touch controlled game and a physically controlled game is not really worth it, no game could be anything like Uncharted, or anywhere near as precise as WipEout

Having said that, not ALL smartphone games are awful, you would just hope that the interesting ones do get ported to Vita either through minis, PSN or the PS Suite if that ever really happens

I would say that AC, LM, 2D Mario, KH, and RE are console gaming experiences.

I would say that AC, LM, 2D Mario, KH, and RE are console gaming experiences. 


Hmm AC, LM, and 2D Mario will be something that is universal, can work both as handheld style game or a console game.

KH and RE are examples of console gaming, however Vita does have 3DS beat in Console gaming, regardless of it being ports of PS3/360 games or few select new experiences like amazing Gravity Daze. 

Add: Actually since it does say only I disagree, even the iPhone has some gems that can be on par with console gaming!

I agree, which is a great thing about Nintendo's games.

Double edged sword really, since that is really the market that Vita seems to be going after. Those that want to play "consoles" on the go. 

(Funny because that is exactly what I don't care about the Vita, all I care about is niche games.....and those niche games are plentiful on the vita and 3DS.)
