Forums - Sony - PlayStation Vita Facebook app pulled from PSN

When we saw Eurogamer's report that the PS Vita Facebook apphad been pulled from PSN, it was only in Europe -- the US PSN store still had the app available for download. But as we began to compile this post, a funny thing happened: the PS Vita Facebook app was pulled from the US store, too.

So we contacted Sony for the reason why it was pulled. "The Facebook application for PS Vita is not available at this point in time," a Sony rep told Joystiq. "We are currently looking into this to restore it to normal operational status. We will announce further details when ready." There's currently no timetable for the app's return, but as soon as we know something, we'll let you know.

The app is pretty good, maybe a sony/facebook problem. Hopefully not a security issue.

I read it was because of issues with the app, but who knows. Mine has been working just fine. The app is alright, but I'd rather use the site, but Facebook.com won't let me comment on anything because they removed the post button a long time ago and the Vita's enter button doesn't initiate the post. In other news, the livetweet app is better than the actual twitter site!

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Mine never worked. Meh.

Maybe this was the case for more people and it's the reason they took it down.

It was awful really slow and hardly worked and the layout was rubbish. They should just make it like the mobile app

Good riddance imo.

I use twitter to follow industry news and Vita app works really nicely.

Facebook app worked well for me, seemed quick, sleek and made photos look fantastic - I preferred it.

Disappointed it was pulled this morning.
