That's not gonna happen, by a long shot. Nintendo only shipped 10m this last FY, they're looking at 6m~ for the upcoming year.

To get to 15m you're basically expecting it to be flat for the next 6 years.

well it all depends on how long, and how well PS360 are supported after the launch of their successors.

if Sony (MS) can adopt a unproven ip system for the PS360(i think of it as promoting an ip on an established platform before it hits PSnextbox) then that could be enough to get them past the Wii, or closer.

and then there is the issue of shelf life (what MS and Sony say it is v reality).

ok since i'm expecting Sony and MS to cross 75m this yr.(may be to high), and many expect Wii to cross 105m, thats a 5m unit gain on the Wii for MS and Sony.

PS360 are going to need Wii to be discontinued and hope 3rd party software can help to hobble the systems along to 5 to 8m a yr. after the release of their successors if they hope to pass Wii globally.

at 8m a yr. it would take PS360 4 yr.'s to pass the Wii, assuming Sony doesn't take second place before then which i doubt would happen and could take those same 3.5 yr.'s to accomplish.

so really it all depends on when each consoles shelf life ends, and how fast sales drop off and by how much over the course of the next 3-5 yr.'s.

now of course that's just 8m a yr. not accounting for the likely hood that 8m a yr. would even be remotely possible. i'd love to see, Sony 2012 yr. end sales projections.

This moment wii is at 95 mill sold.. that means it will hit 100 mill easy this new year.. at last years "sale speed"... ok...?

But... wait... Nintendo had told us them self.. that they planing to have both wii and wii-u for some time (casual and hardcore) and that means there will be another pricecut.. probely new bundels and one or two holliday AAA game.. And I expect wii to hit closer to 104-108 new year 2012-2013..

Thanks to the close to 1.000.000.000 wii games.. The cheap price.. The home community.. and nintendos "timeless" games.. it will have an appeal.. (and sell.. like the ps2)

That means.. New year 2013-2014.. 115-118 mill sold..

And becurse wii is so different from wii-u.. Cheap and crappy..:) It's the perfect situation for them.. two prices, two products, and two home gaming experinces.. Thats is better than one.. also when it comes to competing against sony and ms..

I don't see them pull it before 2017-2020.. when it is way over 125 mill.. (150 mill is not that crazy...) don't see any reason that wii shouldent do a "PS2".... PS2 was also under 100 mill, when ps3 came... And wii is the fastest selling console after all.. :)
