Yes. It's inferior to the Master System, just like the NES was.

I hope it does and Nintendo is the only one left again.

Sounds like perhaps a little too many games.
Not even close. The NES was released while the industry was on the brink of death
No.
People bought the NES for one reason: to play games. Not coincidentally, the NES was only good for one thing: to play games.
I also recall paying $50 on average for each Nintendo cartridge I bought, which for a kid making minimum wage, was a decent chunk of change, meaning I really had to stretch my entertainment value out of every game.
By contrast, there are a ton of games much like the ones I paid $50 for (in 80's economy dollars) for $.99 or even free. To anyone who doesn't see the value in paying $30-60 for a game they're only going to play casually, that's quite a difference.
Mobile games on iOS and Android are an all new game that is developing and growing faster than any previous gaming platform (consoles, PC, handhelds).
Sure, a lot of the games are the same things people have been playing for decades and even more are just plain throwaways (quite literally as free apps), but that's only looking at a the small picture. Considering the market for such smartphone gaming didn't really kick off until 2008, no other platform has grown so fast with no signs of the trend reversing or even slowing.

Yea the video game market mainly crashed in USA. Sega Master System didn't release till 85 (Japan (Mark III)) /86 (US) /87 (Europe). The video game crash happened in 83 so Sega didn't even have to survive because they weren't even in the home console business when the crash happened. The crash screwed Atari since they were the main player at the time. No one really jumped in to fill the void completely till Nintendo with the NES.
Well, not really. NES games were hard. I doubt 'mainstream' casual gamers nowadays could even begin to complete a game like the original Super Mario Bros. or Zelda.
