I originally had an 80 gig BC PS3 from back in 2007 and that was an awesome piece of equipment. But of course the dreaded YLOD hit me and now i have a slim model. Problem is, in the past maybe few months it has been slow as shit. And i dont mean like, I am impatient. It is straight up slower than my old one. The internet crashes all the time, it takes forever to boot up and it frequently freezes. Does anyone know how to fix this? Can i save everything on an external harddrive and then wipe the playstation? Any advice would be great

It only does everything reeeeaaaaal sloooooow.

When was it slow the HDD led flashes without stopping? If so then the issue can be the HDD... just replace the HDD for any 2.5" HDD (notebook version) and this system will work fine again.

You can test the HDD removing it from PS3 and plugging it in your PC to see if it was slow.

Change the batteries

Try to turn your ps3 and play it horizontally.

i've bought 2 PS3 Slim already and sold them because the 2 of them makes some "plack" noise hmm, and while i'm playing FIFA 11 its allaways freezing every 2~3 min. and a lot of other things, then i now give up of PS3, what's sad because i like Uncharted, but it's ok i've a 360 and wii no problems with them.

My Slim crashes more often than my old one too, buuuut... if you dont have your slim for ages, try to get it replaced, or send it in.

(Or, save your data, and reset your console.)
