Forums - Gaming - GameStop drops 3DS price to $150 right before Vita launch, is this going to happen everywhere?

well if this becomes permanant . this is not going good for sony .. for 300 bucks you can buy 2 3dses to enjoy multiplayer ! if this becomes the new msrp .

I knew psvita had little chance before the first price cut but now after the price cut it didnt have a chance and now another price reduction? possible? this definatelly will hurt the chances even more .
this is why
I said before that sony made a mistake by letting nintendo jump in the swimming pool first!

cause they will take all the water and then some .
i say this is just icing on the cake .
i will not be surprised if a new model is coming soon . and it does get a permanant 150 price range with the dsi getting cut to 99 dsi xl follows 3ds . and dslite 49.99

nintendo really is not playing around this time .
they really want sony gone , and what a way to do it.
not only did they secure monsterhunter in japan . but now it looks as if they may steal the us launch thunder by slashing the price even further then what was already a 110 dollar cheaper product lol 280-170=110 (i include a 8 gig memory card in my price) it depends on what your getting w ur vita.
i gotta get an 8 or else ill be where i was w psp (2 gig) out of space and only have like 28 games lol only 2 are download ps1 games

and no your not getting a 250 dollar vita for 300 w bundle thats a 3g version .

so you best rethink that .

Honestly, I think the next move is the obvious one: International "mergers", and  Sony will be the first.  Microsoft has been unsuccessful in Japan, so what better way than to acquire Sony? Keep the brandname intact, and incorporate MS i.e. Sony PlayBoX.  This will put pressure on Nintendo, and may join forces with Apple eventually if that were to happen.  Pipe dream perhaps, but I do foresee big merger/acquisition conglomerating in the future.

Nintendo is too conservative to go there, I don't see it happening.

Sony will better not touch PSV price, this way it will be perceived as belonging to a completely different category from 3DS. Moreover, with Wii and DS horribly down YoY, PSP, PS3 and XB360 down too and PSV not taking off, 3DS alone isn't enough to keep the market up overall, so 3rd parties will do their best to support PSV and Wii U too, although they'll have to reach at least 5M each mostly on Sony's and Nintendo's shoulders respectively, before 3rd parties really start helping them with important releases.
