Forums - Nintendo - Your 3rd party Dream WiiU Launch line

I want to see GTAV and a "Mass Effect Trilogy" on WiiU for launch. That ME Trilogy i dream about would be an instant buy for me any many other WiiU gamers. GET ON IT NINTENDO!

That doesn't explain why you find it so astounding that a Nintendo fan might enjoy a non-Nintendo style game

Besides, what you said is totally wrong looking at the titles announced so far for WiiU

perhaps because i the "games" nintendo now puts out to be as mutually exclusive to things like dead space, resident evil, GTA, and other games requested in this thread as say dora the explorer would be to firefly..

Dora the Explorer is a kid's show whereas many of Nintendo's games appeal to everyone, not just kids.

It's true, though, that Nintendo's offerings do differ greatly from Dead Space or Red Dead Redemption... which is the very reason many of us want variety in the WiiU's library.  Why on earth would we want every 3rd party game to be the same as what Nintendo is already giving us?

Personally, I would love it if the WiiU game section at the store had Mario and Pikmin 3 sitting side by side with GTA5 and Resident Evil 6.  Love it.

third parties?... I dont really care about many of them but lets see...

Dragon quest x --> A given, day 1 for me...
No more heroes 3 --> A given, day 1
anarchy reigns (or something)--> madworld with colors, sounds nice
dragons dogma --> looks good
a vanillaware game--> day 1
PES 2013---> day1

and thats it... I am just waiting for 1st party games...

The most unrealistic possibility I could think of:
Ultima X
(exclusively on WiiU, surprise announcement at E3, development started years ago, supervisor: R. Garriott)

Now this would be a sensation and interesting in different ways. PC-only gamers would be extremely excited and enraged at the same time, even those who never played an Ultima game. Most of the PS3-only or X360-only owners would get mad even though many of them have never heard of the Ultima series before.

A bit more realistically:
A well-done WiiU port of Civilization V, Anno 2070, a Total War or The Settlers game, or the upcoming XCOM remake could be a great addition. Or how about a new SimCity with real devotion in development (it would be about time...). Generally western TBS, RTS and economic sims.

Still my secret wish (which it already was for Wii):
Point&Click developers port their best adventure games to WiiU. Unfortunately this won't happen as these developers are generally very narrow-minded, with the exception of Telltale - the only relevant modern p&c company which has understood the importance of releasing games from this ever-struggling genre on multiple systems.

Generally I'd like to see more western support on Nintendo consoles outside the annual standards like Fifa/Need for Speed and all those already-available-on-multiple-systems HD FPS/TPS/Action games. I hope we will soon see more interesting western announcements than Darksiders 2, The Darkness II or Darkwhatever 2 for WiiU.

Nintendo has wanted to diversify its line up for years. Nintendo Game cube was huge step forward first party titles like EternalDarkness and Giest plus RE4 exclusive. Nintendo did a lot to give its software line up diversity. With Nintendo Wii Nintendo tried initially getting titles like ManHunt2 but Nintendo failed to maintain this diversity. With WiiU Nintendo will want to try again. Reggie himself has said GTA is a title Nintendo has sought for years. Reggie also has explained RE5 was only absent on Wii because it was impossible to port not because Nintendo isn't trying.

Reggie's probably the one wanting GTA. Not Nintendo as a whole. @_@

I thought the Wii was going to get more strategy games thanks to the IR, let's see if the tablet does it now.

The Wii got its own Anno game (called Dawn of Discovery in NA), it got its own SimCity version called SimCity Creator, but that's about it as far as I know.

In the meantime the 360 got Tropico 3/4, Civilization Revolution (not a "real" Civ game in my book but anyway), R.U.S.E., TC'S EndWar, several Command & Conquer ports, two Lord of the Rings RTS games and it will get Port Royale 3 this year. Some of these games are also on PS3. These strategy games were only released on 360 or PS3 because they are HD systems like the PC, the controls were certainly not the reason.

It will be interesting to see if these PC games will go to WiiU from now on as this is the 2nd Nintendo console with superior controls for RTS/economic sims (in comparison to other consoles, not PC), but the first one in HD.

Maybe not launch lineup, but within the first year.
-Mass Effect Trilogy
-The next Souls ____ game.
-Bioshock Infinite
-SSX
-Dragon Quest X
-GTA V
-Tekken WiiU

Resident Evil 6 and GTA V.

They definitely would benefit from the extra power compared to PS3/X360 and are probably coming, so yeah.
