Battlefield 3, EA's challenger to the Call of Duty series, has put up some very solid numbers, as EA confirmed today that the game surpassed 10 million units sold through. The publisher noted that FIFA 12 also achieved the same 10 million milestone. Battlefield 3had last sold 8 million out of 12 million shipped as of the end of November.

During its fiscal update, EA also happily announced that Madden NFL 12 has sold through almost 5 million units life-to-date.

Could be slightly obvertracked by VCG since we have BF3 at 10.9 million excluding 1-1.5 million PC digital sales.

it was announced a few months ago that the witcher 2 sold over 1million copies, 250k of which were digital. So initial pc digital sales could only be 1/4 instead of the 1/1 as you are implying. No doubt digital sales will catch up once the game starts getting ridiculous markdowns for the digital copies, but until that happens, physical copies probably make up the bulk of purchases.
